Wondering who's Captain helped get there Team to the Conference Finals. Unfortunately he had a horrible play in a huge game. Not like he didn't average 21min a night during those battles. - Buff36
It took a little bit, but I am very happy the 2 biggest blowhard fanbases in the NHL are home watching, that is if they can bring themselves to it! |

Assuming Rangers are one of the two, imagine if they had sucked it up and made the Eichel trade?
Good chance that puts them over the top and into the Cup finals. |

I don’t mind that!! As someone else said, Debrusk may be more interesting depending on price. - Bullot
Debrusk is 5 years at $5.8M per. |

No, not at all.
Ranger fans continuing to make my point for me about trouba
If you can’t skate, can’t move the puck, and chase hits. You are irrelevant in the 2024 NHL.
Playoffs still showing you need to have skill and speed.
Sam Bennett. He hits but he has skills and can skate and play with speed.
Tkachuck - similar but a much higher skill level than Bennett.
Darnell Nurse is also being massively exposed this playoff run. Oiler fans can stand him.
He has 2 assistants and is like a -10 or something crazy.
Similar skill set to trouba. Cant pass. Can’t skate and is slow.
The pace of play the entire players has been really really fast compared to regular season

I told my buddy who is a Ranger fan the same thing. He thinks zibajand was good enough as a 1C. Told him for years he’s not.
Each year zibs and the rangers fall short |

The mistake, in my mind, that cannot be made is ever thinking your team has enough good players from a management perspective.
Vegas is a prime example of never thinking they have enough, and being aggressive about always trying to add more.
The Rangers signed Artemi Panarin to a $81.5 million deal five years ago.
In 46 postseason games, he has just 12 goals. 1 this series, 0 last last year and just 2 in the 2022 ECF.
When can we start saying he’s underachieved when it matters most?

He is fast, skilled and doesn't chase hits. Doesn't make sense. |

A fast, highly skilled player failing in the PO's?
I was told that just can't happen.
Can't be.
A fast, highly skilled player who largely fails in the PO's ?
I heard those two just can't go together.
When can we start saying he’s underachieved when it matters most?

Lias Andersson at 7OA when Mittelstadt, Villardi, Tippett, Necas went in the next 5 picks.
Vitali Kravtsov at 9th OA in 2018 over Bouchard, Dobson, Farabee, Whalstrom.
Kakko at 2nd OA in 2019.
Not trading for Eichel when the above 3 showed no signs of a pulse.

Well, I am hoping that Dallas wins tonight, just to extend the series so we don't have several days of no hockey before the SC games start on Saturday.

Rangers have won as many cups as Buffalo has the last 13 years.
They are both losers. At least Buffalo didn’t waste Lundqvist and Shesterkin’s back to back runs of historical post season goaltending - Swedish_Jesus

Trouba being a possession black hole played a huge role in that.
$8M to be a black hole, tough to win when one of your highest paid player is the worst one on the ice every night |

Sit back and enjoy the show. It’s a marathon not a sprint.
Oilers had one token playoff appearance in a 13 year span from 2007-2020. And were the butt of all jokes for a long time.
RNH, Leon, McDavid, Bouchard, Nurse, heck even Broberg is getting in on the fun now and they are one win away from a Cup Final - Swedish_Jesus
Seems Joe Marino found my post and took it one step further.
“Florida Panthers
2 playoff appearances over an 19 year stretch (00-01 through 19-20)
Edmonton Oilers
1 playoff appearance over a 14 year stretch (06-07 through 19-20)
And not a single one of their fans are thinking about playoff droughts!
Winning cures all, someday, Buffalo”

Sure, show me those Stats. Jacob Trouba was the reason the NY Rangers couldn't score goals. Please show me his stats. |

Trouba had a 37 xgf% all situations in the playoffs this year.
Only Ryan Lindgren and Barclay Goodrow were worse.
The Rangers had 51 xgf% when Trouba wasn’t on the ice.

I have no horse in this race. Here's the 5v5 for the playoffs.
Rangers:
49% GF%
43.7% xGF
Trouba
47.6% GF
44.8% xGF |

He's high minute PK and low minute PP. Is that really a fair comparison?
