Yep by giving up assets. |

He has, but he has to pay to do it every time. He had to give away three 2nd rounders and a 3rd to get rid of Ladd and Bailey.
That's not criticism of him, but it's not exactly an accomplishment I'm going to give him much praise for either. It is what it is, he had to pay retail to get rid of some bad contracts that he didn't give out. |

I would very much like to keep our picks going forward, unless there's some sort of can't-miss trade.
They can buy out Lee to save some money if they want, that doesn't cost any assets. |

I agree. We need to stop with the excuse the draft is hard. Other teams manage to do a good job. We tried the trade the picks way. Now we need to try holding onto the picks. |

Totally get it about keeping picks. Sadly I’m not confident with the scouting staff judging by the litany of mediocrity. That said, the isles moved back a few spots in the first to add that second 2nd round pick, I’m ok with using the other 2nd rounder if it means improving the team. I think Lou will be active and there’s some interesting names up for grabs so to speak. There’s ways to dump salary, it shouldn’t hamper their ability to improve this team. |

The way to drop bad contracts is by giving up assets. We added two more bad contracts last season. Have to stop doing that at some point. There’s no any one player this team can acquire that would make them truly competitive. All you had to do is watch the playoffs to see that.
They should keep their core intact and not resign anyone other then Dobson imo. Crap the bed the next two years and push for year three(hopefully, that’s of course in a perfect world). |

Completely agree. At that point, you'd hope that Lou will be gone.(or, y'know...GONE)
and a new GM can aim this franchise in a new direction.

The next two first overall picks are going to be Hagens and McKenna. If they're going to start poopting the bed, this offseason would be a good time to do so |

Now he has to worry about the ones he DID give out. |

I say trade Nelson and Palms this offseason. Play Barzal and Bo on separate lines and use Bridge players and sign players on one year deals for this year’s team. |

Zactly. Same routine. At least with the players Snow signed they had some useful years after they signed their contracts. The ones Lou recently signed sucked the day they put ink to paper.

To be fair those two contracts are enough ammo to hate your GM imo but Martin, clutterbuck, cizikas(less but the term is absurd), Horvat(timing of the trade was and still is laughable to me). I think this team should have did a retool three years ago when we missed the playoffs after the last ECF. Instead we’ve tripled down on the same team and failed every time. Next year will be no different. |

I would add Lee's contract was not good.

To the boys that enjoy a good IPA, I recommend you try Fiddlehead. Nice flavor with a good kick. For those who enjoy a really good kick. I recommend the 16 oz. Second Fiddle. |

If you look at the current core of Barzal, Horvat, Dober, Romanov, Sorokin. You are looking at a 5 yr window. You could be solid in 2 to 3, if you do it right. After that you are looking at a completely new core.

Yeah thats my point with the Horvat trade. He’s a fine enough player(though a bit invisible in the PO’s) but he’s not what the team needed at that time imo. Romanov is looking like a good trade, it’s not all bad, but I think we should’ve made a push to get younger a few years ago.
With that said I assume Horvat will be our next captain. |

Florida has been fun to watch when I’ve had the time to actually sit down for a game and it would be cool to see the oilers win a cup. I like both teams so it’s a pretty cool finals as far as I’m concerned. Florida has a great PK but they better stay out of the box this series. |

Thank you to Cats for putting an extra $70 bucks in my pocket after the Belmont took an unspecified amount out. |

The Cats are on a mission. I know McDavid wants to secure his legacy with a Championship, but the Cats are solid.
