Bertuzzi's change has NOTHING to do with Marner not being able to stay with Pasta. That is plain laziness and or defensive cluelessness. But keep reaching. - jribout

I'm barely on here and when I am, you're still hammering everyone with the same BS takes that nobody agrees with.
Hint: it's not because you're brilliant, it's because you're a (frank)ing idiot and your takes are (frank)ing stupid. - gravyface
The best is when UG starts responding to one of his many alts. Carrying on a conversation and agreeing with himself.

Bertuzzi chased behind the net and made a horrible change. It absolutely does put Marner at a disadvantage getting back on the ice. Tavares not being high enough at the redline changes who Marner is trying to cover for. If you watch the replay, Zacha is sitting right there who was a potential target for a pass in the middle of the ice.

He was right beside Pasta. He covered nobody. Just like Reilly

Thanks for proving my point. Marner is with Heinen than coasts and leaves him wide open in front of the net. LOL |

This clip literally shows Marner right next to the Pasta - cut and dry man. There would be absolutely no other player in this clip Marner would or should be tracking. That’s his man.
Who gives a crap about the behind the net to flush in forecheck.
He’s an NHL player and should understand situational coverage when flows change…or the folks thy think he’s bad 5v5 defensive hockey are right and the speed and decision making is too much for him and that’s why he is only good at a slowed 5v4 pace on PK
Marner

So Nylander, being an NHL player, should have done something except let his controller run out of batteries?

Nope he is just over rated defensively, needs to get his old work ethic back and not try to bend the Leafs over again on his next contract. Otherwise bye bye even if just for the cap space.
Also no matter how hard you try to claim otherwise. JT is going nowhere unless he wants to. |

Why is that funny guy? So cause the forechecker made a poor choice - his teammates should abandon taking their man?
What a crazy league that would be. The second a player makes a mistake on the defensive side of the ouch the rest of the players on the ice say: ahh well fack it let em’ score I guess.

Ok, listen up folks. Here is what is gonna happen. Book it. E15.
JT is staying for this coming season. He is not waiving to get traded. Forget any crazy ideas about running him out of town. Other teams don't covet him. They might want him if the chance arose, but they aren't giving up quality assets for him at this time. They can wait until he's a UFA - if the Leafs don't resign him and let him retire a Leaf. He'll be a Leafs assistant coach before he wears another team's jersey. Book it. So just stop the wishful thinking and bickering about the finer details of a trade scenario that will never happen.
Marner isn't getting traded to the Utah Flyover Soakers, the Chicago Groomers, Nashville Inbreds, or whatever team has the imaginary cap space and desire to sign a historically soft elite winger who will command north of $12m per year. I honestly don't know or have a feeling about what will happen with Marner, but I don't see him waiving to go to any of the teams mentioned.
Rielly is staying, You don't improve your defense by getting rid of your best defender. You put the right support around that defender, not trade him. You may not love him, but he's the Leafs best d-man and it's not even close. If you get rid of him, you need to get two more players equal or better to make it worth while.
Let's just hope Tree doesn't throw too much cap and term at Bert. |

I would imagine it is hard to see through your Marner goggles, but the guy Nylander was near at the blueline did not score. Also Nylander was on the strong side of that same player. Mitch well not so much.
