The most Leafy thing is Marner going to another team, signing a discount and winning a Cup. So it'll happen. - AdamFrench
Oh oh oh, or JT leaving after next season and signing in Buffalo or Ottawa for 3mil or something and then that team beating the Leafs in the first round!
It writes itself! C'mon Hollywood! |

this make me lol. Saabrays had all 3 at the same time - senstroll
It's funny I was thinking about how many former Leafs have gone on to be huge stars and / or huge contributing factors on other teams who have won cups and outside of Tuka Rask (who was never a Leaf) and Kadri oh and I guess Alex Steen I can't think of many - certainly none that were on the team at the same time.
The Buffalo situation would have Leafs Nation on fire!
It sure does beg the question why this happens to any team though - systems/coaching, just an overall poopity organization etc?

What about something like JT, Reilly AND MARNER all leaving in a blockbuster trade to a team like Buffalo, Ottawa etc. and winning a cup and then all re-upping on the new team for a huge discount.
This is 100% Leafy.

Political bullpoop aside, Leafs have done a good job with Cowan and Knies. Good young talent in the pipeline.

By good job with cowan, you mean left him alone to learn on a jr team?
Knies looks like a good 3rd line guy who can play on the 2nd line if need be, for sure. They did well with him |

Getting a 21 year old playing 16 minutes a night in the NHL Playoffs in the 2nd round is very good. |

You can't rush some of these young guys. It's best to let them season in the minors for a little longer than necessary than not long enough. You can really (frank) a kid up by pushing him into the big leagues too fast. Some are cut out for that quick transition and some aren't.

So essentially...dont trade marner and dont resign bert and domi as they combined for 30 goals. So they werent worth the $8m. Agreed. |

Have you ever sat down and tried to watch Fox News?
They don't even try to make their poop believable. They know that they can say whatever they want, and their audience will eat it up without a single moment of critical analysis.

Could be an argument that Kadri, Kessel and Verhaeghe were all in the orginazation at the same time. If you include guys who walked as UFAs, Bozak can maybe be added to the list. |

M'eh never played a game as a Leaf so he's not a guy I look at and think "Why the (frank) didn't you do that when you played for us you clown". lol
I also think he's been good but he hasn't been instrumental or lead his team to playoff glory since the Leafs traded him.
