Yea Rempe will get a regular shift you figure. Maybe Edstrom. That’s a good bottom 6 of size. If we had those guys developed right now this series would be a little be more even

to me the blueline is the mini disaster right now when looking at next season

True and a good starting point but what do you think the return maybe? Trading him for the sake of trading him isnt worth it. He is still a cost controlled player who isnt set to earn big money. He is a capable 3rd liner.

Id start with a buyout of Goodrow. Letting Wennberg, Roslovic and Gus walk.

- Brukie

I wouldnt buy out Goodrow. What hes done this year in the playoffs gets him another year.

For me it starts with Trouba. We already saw how good Miller and Schneider can be together and we move forward from there.

We go off the massive performance of LAF this playoffs, give him the C.

Wennberg, Roslovic, Gus can all go. If Necas isnt in the cards, Drury should try to target Toffoli to play RW.

Lindgren will age like milk. Trouba hopefully is moved as well. Bad player worse contract.
Panarin and zib aren’t moveable so there that. That pretty skill style isn’t good enough imo to be your two best guys

- nyrangers2

Trouba is a damn good defenseman, he's mostly been hung out to dry this series. That said, he does need to clean up his act. But he's not a bad player by any means, and his contract is about market for what he can do

Its not that we dislike Trouba. Id say the blessing is we have Schneider. Schneider and Miller played remarkably well together when Trouba was out. For what Trouba is making, the Rangers could sign Toffoli and get a solid 3rd pairing RD like Tanev. Thats basically how I see it. If we didnt have Schneider, its not something Id even think about.

Trouba very much not worth what he's paid. He's also not that good.

Fox may be hurt but doesn’t stop him from using his head. For a guy educated at Harvard he sure does dumb stuff. Like last night on the first goal where he jumped over to Lindgren side when the guy was covered by Lindy he got burnt, like he did so many times this year.
Also I’ve said many times over the last few years , the rangers try passes that have about 5% chance of connecting. That burned them time and again this series.

They notoriously over complicate things. When a team plays as aggressive as Florida does, you have to move the puck quickly, however they hold the puck too long and try to make the perfect pass.

Even when they moves it quickly, Florida beats them to spots. Like the zone exits. 1 team really wants to win this series.

if Florida finishes off the Rangers, it's going to be interesting to see if they power their way to the Cup vs either the Oilers or Dallas

will give us another perspective of the Rangers performance vs them

The Oilers, yes for sure I agree with you. Dallas is the only team that can match Florida. Depends on if Dallas can get somewhat healthy.

I completely agree, but I dont think thats necessarily because of speed alone. I think its because, as Ive said before, were predictable. 75%, atleast, of all of our possessions are within 2 feet of or on the boards. So if you know you can outskate your opponents and you have a pretty good idea that the Rangers are gonna wrap the puck around, it makes things a lot easier. Send one guy at the puck carrier, send one at the spot where you expect the pass to go. Done. Then the battles in the corners, were losing them because Florida isnt worried about getting the puck, they want to knock you on your arse and win the puck that way.

Then on the opposite end, were not finishing our checks. Everything is a stick check, soft push or rub off, that does nothing to disrupt the puck carrier. They blow right by our guys.

They need to come out tomorrow and take the fkn body. If we go down, they go down. Dont put yourself into a position where you miss a check and then end up behind the play. Get in front, hit him. Take him out the play.

Yeah wonder how this series is different if we had the McDonagh, Giradi, Staal in their prime Defense instead of what we have now. Those guys at least blocked a ton of shots. Not like our current D has scored a goal in a while so I'll take guys who block shots at the moment.

With his numbers in prior seasons, how did Goodrow get the money he got? What the hell. Didn't have much of a resume before we signed him.

He got the money he got because of what were seeing in the playoffs right now. This series is over without Goodrow. He was coming off b2b cup years. I remember being really annoyed with the contract because I felt the limit should have been 3m. However, I feel the taxes plays a huge part in what we offer players to come here. When you consider he had 30+ points in the previous 2 years, thats actually not bad at all. All of that is forgotten the playoffs. The goal is making the playoffs, everything prior to that is irrelevant and vise versa. Does it matter that Panarin had 120 points and 49 goals in the regular season if hes got 0 goals in the last 7 games and 4 in total these playoffs? Goodrow has 6 goals and 3 came in this series against the Panthers.

I don’t care if Panarin isn’t scoring goals when laf is getting all the looks and putting them in for that line. Trocheck seizing the moment too. I care that mika and kreider haven’t done a thing outside of 2 shorthanded goals. A third line that can put pressure on but can’t score also sucks when half of your top 6 is invisible

Well thats a part of my other point in the previous thread about how necessary an effective bottom 6 is. When you have a 3rd and 4th line that cause disturbances in the offensive zone, it causes a defensive matchup nightmare for the coach. Maurice and the Panthers put their best defensive lines out there against Mika, making us a one line team and basically dare the bottom 6 to do something more than dump or ice the puck.
