He was overpaid from the get go. They used his last arb salary as the baseline and should have discounted that heavily for a longer term deal. Was swayed by his PP TOI production in Winnipeg, which is not his role here. If he was at $6 mil, most wouldn't blink an eye or at least as much.

I find that a little insulting. You are assuming that I don't see exactly what you are seeing from Tom this morning. I just have the ability to react both emotionally and rationally. You are ruled by emotion. I can find Tom's remarks distasteful from a fan's perspective, but still just want to point out where I find them lacking or flat out wrong without wishing death upon him. Instead I wish clarity and understanding on him.
