He's 34, I wouldn’t think his salary would go up.

So a player that scored 70 pts, ready to sign his last contract, wants to come and play in Vancouver for very cheap salary because he enjoys the high cost of living? Help me out here bud.

There are a lot of internal questions to answer on Canucks first before an established player sees them a winner.

For example, what’s the number for resigning Boeser? Retaining Hronek or replacing? The list goes on.

How in the (frank) do people think we’re going to add? This was the best team depth we’re going to have and they blew it. We don’t have enough cap room to run it back even.

No one is taking Mik unless we have an equally bad contract coming back or add a 2nd+ or a high prospect to it. Lindholm, Joshua and Hronek have probably priced themselves out of here. I think Zadorov stays. But there will be many roster spots to fill. We need to add some grit too. Having 1 Canadian player dressed in a game in the playoffs isn’t good enough. You could tell the team was gassed by game 6 in the second round.

Yup.
A lot of pie in the sky dreams floating around right now where we dump our trash for players with value, sign the best FAs for deals and resign our own players at discounts.

It’s just the start of the dog days of summer

Depends on the Rangers cap space.

Utah may want to make a splash. They have some players/prospects that would be nice additions. Also, Utah doesn't have any defensemen signed for next season, maybe they could arrange to get both him and Hronek.

Remember, this is one of the guys who felt Pouty should be making North of 12 million, while several of us thought 8.5-9 was more appropriate.

If Hughes has any say in this Tkachuk and Tanev will be here. You can still build a great team if you are willing to make some very big moves.

You could have a Tkachuk Lindholm Reinhart line if you are willing to get rid of one or two players.

Would like to have Tanev back, have been a big fan of his, Tkachuk would be nice, but highly unlikely

A Sam Bennett type would be a nice addition, or Lawson Crouse.

I am not complaining about the season this team just had, as I found it enjoyable, I just haven't liked the makeup of the team, other than the big defense and of course Miller.

I am not a big fan of Tanev at all, but I do know he is steady and reliable, and Hughes loves the guy. If you can bring back Tanev and Myers at the 8 mil range for both then you move on Hronek and take the draft picks. Fills two spots instead of one.

Canucks can have a repeat of last year by moving out some contracts selling high on some players.

Petey for Cooley and Crouse. Keep Lindholm and Hronek.

It’s not about adding the team will be different. It’s about allocation and re-shaping. Yes agree the team we saw blew it. But the team that emerges will have more experienced core players.

Though with the suggestions made to sell high on core players they wont even make the playoffs. However, am confident management knows what they are doing to figure it out in time for the season.

In all honesty if we can play similar next year and add some goal scoring and grit up front I like this team a ton with a petey ppg season but steady. We'd be very tough to stop

Canucks went from the outhouse to the penthouse in one year, so I think saying they blew it is crazy talk. Finishing fifth OA is not shabby at all. My take on this year comes from an old Don Adams quote "Missed it by that much"

We went to game 7 with the Oilers with a third string goalie and our top scorer out for the last game but more importantly our superstar was MIA.

I have trust in the management group but not carte blanche trust. There were errors along the way, but over all a very good job.

They went "All in" traded their 1st & 2nd round picks on rentals. I surmise they'll be doing the same next season. Hopefully they can figure something out with Zadorov.

I think they are going to go for Guentzel and they are looking at a line of Petey with Guentzel and Hoglander which has a some similarities to the Crosby with Guentzel and Sheary line in Pitts. Hoglander is a lot like peak Sheary and he’s got a bit more offensive pop than Sheary. I think they should get another speedy winger to go with Miller and Boeser and move Suter to 3rd line. I would love to see Zadorov back with the proviso that he will be mostly meh in the regular season.

Mikhayev is exactly who Leafs fans said he is very fast ( not really since the knee) with very limited finish. He’s not a 20 goal guy imo he’s 10-12 and can play in top six as a fill in for 4-6 games.

I am definitely curious to see how it plays out

I wanted to mention Florida they play such a relentless game in terms of the forecheck they are undeniably the best. They attack in waves on the opposition breakout and don’t let up at all all the way to their defensive zone. This is why guys like Kulukov and Ekman Larsson are decent fits as they don’t face a lot of rush opportunities as the opposition is denied room to speed up approaching the offensive blue line. Also they are easily the most physical team in the playoffs as they seem to welcome the physical play and almost wait to drag you into the wall with them.

IMO they have 30 mil to sign Zadorov and Lindholm if they BO Mikheyev. No reason not to be able to do it.
