Would never happen but would you trade Michkov for Lafreniere?
I wouldn't do it, but that's just my opinion. I really want to see what Michkov has to offer. - Thors-Hammer

This doesn’t mean we have to accept them extending konecny long term to a grotesque deal. Because everyone else sucks?
I can think of many other sports where only one champion gets crowned each year. |

I like TK, it brings me no joy saying he should be traded. BUT, it is as obvious as day that it is the way forward. They must take steps back to go forward. |

They have Michkov and Foerster at RW. It’s simply salary allocation and team building. They already pushed Tippett over to LW. They will probably continue jamming square blocks into round holes when they extend TK and put Michkov at center |

Thanks Bill. Great work as always.
Perspective can be a good way to lessen the sting of not winning for so long. But it really doesn't. It still sucks. Especially our current incarnation, which hasn't won in forever and appears to have no idea how to win now. Stuck in a 50 year old mentality of how a team should be built.
This franchise is just like the city of Philadelphia itself. Stuck in the past. - MBFlyerfan
Michkov was a good indication that maybe just maybe they’ll change their approach. Trading Walker was another one. There are some good indications. This summer will mark the new era of orange’s first year. Let’s see how the team looks after the first week of July. I know we’re all fearing the worst but maybe they’ll surprise us. |

Excellent point. The team can only have so many RWs roster spots and regular playing time. Michkov, Foerester, Farabee and Tippett for now are the top 4 wingers for the future. TK needs to go I’m sad to say |

Oh and do whatever they have to do to draft a potential 1C. Think about this:
Get aggressive and pick one of the top 3 centers in this years draft. Trade and sign Necas. |

Reality is the Flyers are an incompetent franchise. They are one of the worst in all of sports the last decade plus.

With that resume I’d say he does. I remember when he was first coming into the league. A magazine I used to read called goalie digest did a 5 page technical analysis of bob with a lot of frame by frame pics. Their conclusion was that we’d finally found a very good goalie who had potential to be one of the leagues best in years to come. I was very excited to see him grow with the team. Boy did we f that one up. |

I believe the most important pieces are 1C,1W,1D,2C and G in that order with complementary role players. Huberdeau was a 1W who they flipped for a much better 1W. - Minnyhock
I believe that the org doesn’t really prioritize goaltending and hasn’t for a long while. It can be a real game changer as we see with shesterkin. I really hope that one of feds or kolosov turns into a stud and that we are patient with them. My prioritization is stud 1d stud 1c and then goaltender. Although team can overcome average goaltending like the oilers have I like the idea of having a top ten tender that can keep you in a lot of games and be your backbone. |

Oh yeah. That’s very fresh and I still can’t believe that happened but of course. That’s our luck. Star goalies die some are arrested in Russia and sent to the Russian navy and another staring down 25 to life in prison.
I swear we have the same bad luck building a team as Mr burns did building his ringer softball team on the Simpsons if you’ve ever seen that episode. Haha |

What is the likelihood of Fedotov being a stud? Hope he can be a good backup.
Kolosov is rumored to be heading back to Europe. Though been quiet on that front recently. |

Personally I wouldn’t trade any of the years of memories for anything. That’s the fun of the sport. One team wins it all every year. 04 team broke my heart but a few moments that game to force a game 7 against Tampa - broke my curling fan cheering. Had some bad moves, bad choices, bad luck but that’s part of the ride. Sports entertainment. If you don’t enjoy it don’t watch |

I just want to add this If the Flyers won the Draft lottery the year Patrick Kane came out they would have won One maybe 2 Stanley cups. I am not a fan of the Draft Lottery You should pick where you fall in the standings. Also Trading Bobrouski was not a smart move. |

I like the idea of the teams that miss playing for the best draft spot first team to miss gets pick 1 it would keep a hell of an entertainer factor for just about every game |

I don’t know but Id give him a long look. He’s a big tender and seems to move pretty well. He’s had success at the international level so who knows. I just hope they don’t give him 20 games as a backup and then say.. we give up on him. Also, I really hope the ersson we saw I. The first half of the year is the real guy. I think he did wear down but hoping he is the guy we saw early. |

Kane, Giroux, Carter, Richards, Hartsy, Kimmo, Bob... quite a core there. With a more patient mindset, better cap management and a more forward-looking view on blueline construction, they might have become a dynasty.
But let's be honest... these are the Flyers we're talking about. Kane would have somehow gotten traded for Luke Schenn anyway and we'd be back on the same timeline haha. And Homer was never gonna manage the cap properly or stay patient. |

Do you see the coach giving him a long look if the immediate results are not there? He is coaching to win and make the playoffs.
Also what is the track record of big goalies being successful? Bishop and Vaselesky? Anyone else? |

Rinne, Ullmark, Demko, Hellebuyck, Freddy Anderson, Markstrom, Dubnyk, Matt Murray, Lehner, Mike Smith, Lehtonen and Steve Mason are all 6'4+ and have had success.
Skinner, Oettinger, Hill are also some of the younger dudes who are 6'4+.

Maybe the Flyers quietly got him some puck bunnies to make the transition to America a little bit easier. Plus really what is there to do in Allentown? Living there would make anyone yearn for home. |
