Agreed - Buff36
Pretty much a third, Minnesota got a nice prospect our of it tho. Heidt looks like he could be a decent distributor in the NHL.

But he's under 6'0 tall, so I've heard these players are useless. |

A 5th rounder by itself might not have been enough but to think Greenway was ever worth a 2nd round pick and then some is just mental - Jet Jaguar BD

I think thats absurd. Solid 4th line/pk player. No reason to move on from for a third to have to replace him with someone you don't know could fill that role.
The player you draft with that third most likely will never see the bright NHL lights. |

Bottom 6 forward with 3 years term. Still young. Not gunna get em for free.
we're really complaining over draft picks today...... when everyone wants to trade them away now anyways
The irony in this place nearly kills me everyday. |

Useless or under 6'0?
The correct answer is the latter, so choose wisely lol.
23 days away from the draft, you think we're picking or trading now? What's the 36 gut saying? |

No, it really isn't. If nothing else, he is a fantastic penalty killer. What do you think you are getting with the last pick in the 2nd round? These comparisons to Lionheart are idiotic. |

He doesn't bring enough to the Table for 3 mill a year and unless you plan on resigning him, I will take the 3rd |

Wouldn't you then need to get someone like him? I don't get it. The guy is useful and is very much like what we need more of. He was nice in the bottom 6 and is tremendous on the PK. The biggest complaint is that he misses games in stretches.

I was his biggest defender. I like most of the moves he has made. But until you win something, he doesn't belong within a mile of that category.

Higher than greenway for what? There are four bottom 6 wingers. If we can get 4 guys better than him, fantastic. Nobody said he is fabulous player. The conversation started with the trade value. He isn't great, but he serves a role and he certainly isn't hurting this team.

He has 1 year left on his contract, he is making 3 mill a year. Are we resigning him, I think we can do better. |

Yes he isn't worth the 3. His contracts up after this year anyways. I think hes more than fine in a 4th line/pk role.

That's a completely different topic. I think they rolled the dice when they made the trade in the hopes that Meatballs could work his magic again and bring this guy to be a 2nd line forward. I would agree - we could probably get similar production for less money.

Hes just as good if not better than Trenin who you've been clamoring for the last 3 months.

if he played 12 minutes a night, he is not hurting the team
the problem is he was playing over 17 minutes a night
a team that constantly misses the playoffs has more holes than a head coach in their lineup |
