Agreed.
And I'd still prescribe to the "draft one per year" mentality. Levi is a 7th round pick, Miller was a 5th, heck Hasek was 10th round. If that isn't a sign that goalies are voodoo and good scouting doesn't necessarily help, I don't know what does. - QuinnFan

Miller won a vezina and was a top 3 to top 5 goalie for a few years
UPL can’t hold millers jock strap when it comes to on ice play - Sabretooth9
how many other years was he top 5
serious question and what years? |

played like crap in game 7 vs the canes
played blah in 5 of 7 games in flyers series
let in 4 goals in the first 2 games of the sens series in 07 to give us no chance
had 1 great 2/3 of a season when he got silver though
I put Miller on the most over rated sabres all time team and if he was Canadian instead of American he would have received about 5 percent the hype he got - homiedclown
Don't forget all the "Ryan Miller Shutouts" where he plays out of his mind but let's in a goal anywhere from 47 seconds left to .3 seconds left.
I agree and it's one of my biggest problem with what this franchise has become. We want to be like other sucussful franchises so bad so we put up banners in the rafters of guys that never won us anything and corporate sponsors to help fill in space. |

I always knew he would give up one bad goal a game, pretty sure the "Miller shutout" was when he would play a great game but let in a softy late. - washedup20
Yep, he was a choke artist. He choked even when he was playing great. |

Agreed, have to keep the stable stocked up to avoid dead years like what keeps happening in Philly or Colorado.
I'm hoping we can knab Carter George or Nick Kempf with a mid rounder this year. |

if anyone was to be objective
sauve, edwards, barasso were all much closer to top 10 goalies in their seasons than miller
miller was the only game in town once biron got moved and made the playoffs twice once biron was traded and it took enroth playing lights out to sneak in the playoffs that second and final series
miller IMO will always be hall of good that people in buffalo overvalue due to longevity
just like many other sabres don luce, girgens, zhitnik, seiling, hecht, mckee, staff, etc

I never trusted ryan miller
skinner got yanked for the oilers
hellebuyck looked like crap
saros played great, lost first round
goalies are a crapshoot unless you have hasek in his prime - homiedclown
Boston used 2 goalies, Carolina 2, Edmonton 2, LA 2 NYI 2, Toronto 2, Vancouver 3, Vegas 2, and Winnipeg 2.
The idea that UPL would have been the worst isn't based in reality. No one ever heard of Vancouver's 3rd G and he put up a .917 at 5v5.

There's some fair arguments in here, but I'm always down to have a Mckee or Hecht on my roster. Throw in Grier for good measure.

I’m not going to say I am the biggest Star Wars fan but I know I am obsessed with it in a way a lot of people think they are.
The Sequel Trilogy was, is and always will be awful. A pure cash grab with the wrong people in charge.
The Prequel Trilogy was, is and always will be objectively GREAT. It is pure FAN SERVICE and despite its issues, it is underrated. I consider Phantom Menace to be among the best Star Wars content and people are really resentful toward it for selfish reasons.
Original Trilogy was is and always will be Space Opera masterpiece. It is objectively good. Has not aged well. Lucas erased all original cuts of the movies, we might never see them remastered in 4k without the digital effects added.
Empire Strikes Back is the most overrated Star Wars movie, only since topped by The Farce Awakens. What a boring (frank)ing movie, seriously.
However, Clone Wars and especially Rebels is peak Star Wars. Rebels might be the single best Star Wars content out there.
Mandalorian, Andor, Rogue One, Asokha, Book of Boba Fett… All good. All of it is Fan Service. You don’t like some of it? Too bad, go watch Empire, twat.
Obi Wan is the Solo of the Disney+ content. I enjoyed it but wow, a lot of issues. But still - Fan Service.
The Acolyte is very Mid. Very Mediocre. Very close to the Sequel Trilogy but still, I think it will stand out.
Always gonna be casting, lore and pacing issues. But they are giving us the content we always wanted. It is the New Expanded Universe. Just enjoy it.
Rogue One is the only oddity. It is still such a ballsy move, I think it was a complete fluke. It was neither Fan Service nor cash grab… It wasn’t basking in it’s own piss like Empire and it was different enough but so unique within the universe… Andor came close but it’s still modern Star Wars.
Rogue One is special, and I am so happy we got it when we did. - Jet Jaguar BD
If you only watch the original trilogy and rogue one, you will never be upset.
To me, mandolorian and boba get were bring and derivative. Couldn’t watch which of the other Disney + shows.
Loathe episodes 1-3. Don’t like the midichloriam idea. The sequels were absolute crap but I enjoyed force awakens in the theatre.
EPS 1-3 and 8-9 are not allowed to be watched in my house and I have forbidden my children from watching them.
Still haven’t got around the Solo yet bc the reviews were so bad when it was released but I will give it a watch. The guy playing Han was a good choice from the ads.
And f the Mods in their fruity scooters.

Best Star Wars content always has been the video games
Kyle Katarn Trilogy
Kotor 1 and 2
Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor
Force Unleased 1 and 2 - Jet Jaguar BD
This is the best content hands down. I'll also say this - the idea of Star Wars has always been better than the execution of the movies. As someone who didn't see the OG trilogy until his 20s, those movies are not that good - the third one is actually bad imo. |
