What are you missing? If he was so highly thought of why did almost every other team in the NHL pass over him the last 5/6 yrs???. Rangers took a shot at Quinn didnt work out . Let me ask you what NHL team do you root for?? - hfc355
His point isn’t that they should have hired Knoblouch. It’s that they shouldn’t have hired Quinn. |

Only 1 team passed him over for David Quinn. - blacksheep1
That's incorrect. 2 teams passed on Knoblauch for David Quinn and about 20 teams passed on him for someone else |

Disagree he said only 1 team passed on him and hired Quinn...which is incorrect to start with San Jose did also. If it's just about hiring Quinn then say that, which would has nothing to do with Knoblauch. |

Exactly.
Quinn over Knoblauch was a mistake the same way not keeping JT Miller was a mistake, even though it took him another 2 teams, 3 coaches and 5 years to flourish. That way, it fits the narrative. |

Agree with you, he said only one team and that wasn’t correct. Was just trying to help bridge the gap since it seemed you were focusing on the knoblauch part. |

Completely forgetting the only reason Edmonton hired him is because he coached McDavid in juniors. If that didn’t happen there is a better chance I get hired over Knoblauch
Rangers fault tho
This place is being “RUN” by two trolls, “POSING” as Ranger fans. Gearing every single conversation to the side of toxicity and virtually everyone, but me and jimmy, bow at their feet feeding them literally all day long. And we’re the bad guys for pointing it out

Serious question. No agenda, genuinely curious. Do you consider this season a success? Are you content? |

No, im devastated. I blame Lavy in the end over anyone else. All season I didn’t like the ice time he doled out and in the end, vs a relentless team, it bit them in the ass because they had nothing else to give.
As an example, Fox getting 25 minutes a game in January was not the best approach

It’s nice having both spectrums. The overly positive fans and the non stop negative ones. You get a full range of rangers fandom. Reality is this is the only place I know to talk rangers hockey. Been doing it for a long time lol. Gonna keep trying to enjoy it with whoever shows up to talk |

Come on Teej, you make it sound like everyone on here is bowing down to Brukie and Tom and hating on you and Jimmy. Not the truth at all. |

Fair assessment. Don’t disagree. I think there are many other factors though, namely you need your top players to perform, which Zib and Bread didn’t do. There are other factors on top of both of those, just naming some.
With your point though, you are right, and that plays on both coaching as well as roster construction. You need a roster and a coach where the coach trusts to play all 12 forwards and all 6 defensemen. |

It’s just everyone is oblivious to what they, more so Tom, do
It is what it is. I’ve made a commitment to ignoring them. That my formal protest

Agreed. Don’t like the victim mentality. Many are pessimistic (not me, I thought Rangers were winning the cup until after game 5 against the panthers). But that doesn’t mean people “bow down” to Tom and Brukie. Just because we don’t bash them doesn’t mean we agree with everything they say. |

No one agrees with my assessment of Zib and Kreider all year🤷🏻♂️they need a better RW. If they had one with as much skill as them, the questions about them, more so Zib, wouldn’t be as vicious. It’s ridiculous how Zib was treated this year imo. But again, pressure was on this year so I get it. Kakko sucks, wheeler is old and generally sucks, Roslovic had a few moments but isn’t a RW1. Those are 3 guys who played the most with them. We know what they can do with a stud with them (zucc, Buch and Vatrano) prove my case. Besides the fact that they may be the best two PK forward pair we’ve ever seen. I can’t remember a duo that dangerous on our PK, and I’m 50 years old. So that is not something I will forget like most do
Without Panarin, and this is fact, we probably don’t even play vs Florida. Florida is about the worst matchup possible for Panarin, specifically. Laf was open because he wasn’t, so they took what they gave them.
I’ll ride with these guys one more year and tinker where they can. If rempe can develop more that would be a huge boost vs the floridas, because they need a line who can pressure the other team like we were bombarded with. |

My main gripe with Zib during the Panthers series was his lack of physicality. It seemed like he was allergic to having physical contact with another player. He would be forechecking and then peel away instead of checking. |

Idk that can work against you too, because they could easily be hurt and then we’re (frank)ed. Same with Panarin. That isn’t their game and never was or never will. The Florida series is where the 3rd line needed to step up more, they did on the OT winner in game 3, but did nothing else
The guys that play a physical game barely played in the Florida series. Cuylle especially. Goodrows Rempe and Cuylle should’ve played together and more often with more minutes. I really soured on Lavy this series because he did nothing to stem the onslaught when they needed to. If Rempe is dressed, in the playoffs, he can’t play for 3 minutes. You’re basically entering the game with 17 players at your disposal
The playoffs have different rounds, opponents and ways a series play is out. Our big guns aren’t physical players so they needed other guys to step up…like KAKKO for instance, and he gave you absolutely nothing. To me he’s the single biggest issue in the forward group right now because he simply doesn’t do nearly enough at this stage of his career |

It’s why they have to move Trouba. Use that money to get that RW1. It’s the move they have to make to give themselves a chance |

Chytil is a wild card. He had a lost year, but he has a dynamic game if he’s healthy. It was a huge loss this year
But they clearly would play him on RW1. Then getting a 3C would be easier, or less money on the cap
If you asked me today, these are my opening night forwards (just predicting)
Kreider Zib Chytil
Panarin Trocheck Laf
Cuylle xxxxx Othmann
Vesey Goodrow Rempe
JBrod
Kakko is gone imo. They have to be out of patience with him, I’d be stunned, and pissed lol, if he’s back
So I’m not on the go crazy train like some people, because as much people don’t want to believe it, they’re close imo. They just ran into a buzzsaw for a week and a half
Oilers could get swept, they seem happy to be in the finals and skinner, played well vs Dallas, is no Shesty. Florida looks like hungriest team
I’ve ever seen. On a mission |

[quote=banger94]
Miller needs to be better, or at least more consistent. He seems to be a series of ups and downs that never stops. Some days you’re goo goo gaga over his ability, some days you want to break your TV
Lindgren is a very tough call for Drury Id imagine. And what to do with him
Trouba, I just find it hard believe he isn’t a Ranger next year. I get the sentiment to trade him tho. So who know what happens
Fox is hurt I think. I’m not sure if anything has come out yet, but he wasn’t himself. He couldn’t elude body checks which is his calling card in past years
Schneider who I’d have traded long ago, but they can’t anymore. Hes fine and he’ll get better.
Gus, I’m done with the Gus train. Jones should be the 6th guy next year which i think is a virtual guarantee
Trouba gone, Tanev in is probably ideal to appease most people. Tanev is a really good player. I know Dallas lost but he was a huge pickup for them. He is older but would be the kind of guy we’d all love and he isn’t a liability |
