I could see kakko staying but they may want a faster better forechecking winger. Could let Othmann or Berard slide in there as well - nyrangers2
I want Sykora to also get a shot. I think Berard and Sykora could be a very effective third line |

All for players playing injured unless the really can’t go. As for trouba ltir could’ve got them a nice top 4 dman or top rw. Worked well for Vegas. A lot of folks mentioned this when Trouba originally got hurt in March. Not really sure why you’re so angry here.
Nobody is blaming players here. More so a GM issue. Drury did some crazy poop the previous deadline too wi to the whole Kane trade. - nyrangers2
Tons of people are blaming the players. Are you not reading any of these comments?? And the first game Trouba missed with his ankle was the day AFTER the trade deadline. So, how exactly were we supposed to pick up a replacement? Drury was supposed to Harry Potter up some magic rules or something?
I'm angry because it's annoying to read on June 4th how everyone knew better and had a solution that would've handed us the Cup. It's worse than excuses, it's delusion. |

He broke is ankle prior to the tdl. He tried to played a few games with it. That’s why the LTIR was a good option. Should’ve shut him down to heal. But I don’t run the team. Just an opinion.

From what I read, the 1st game Trouba missed due to his ankle was March 9th. When was the trade deadline again, please? |

March 8th. Doesn't change the fact he should have missed the 10 games. Similar situation the year before with Lindgren. Chris Drury does not understand how LTIR works. SAD! |

I really don’t care if Trouba was hurt or healthy. I am looking at next year going forward. He has fallen behind fox and Schneider on the right handed defensemen depth chart. You just can’t pay a 3rd pair guy 8 million a year when you are trying to build at a roster to compete for the cup. It’s that simple to me |

Agreed. Every team has some bad contracts, but this one is top 5 league bad.
Some teams can over come that and some cannot. |

Sounds like you should be assistant GM! First order, what’s the roster lineup for game 1 if it were you? |

So, what does Drury then do with all this accrued cap space on March 9th? How does it not change your "fact?" Seriously, I'll wait for you to respond. What is the end game that shows that Drury doesn't know what he's doing?
If there is a benefit to keeping someone out of the line up after the point at which you can no longer acquire new players, I need to hear it. Obviously, I also don't understand how LTIR works. |

If Drury would have put trouba on LTIR they could have acquired someone with an $8m contract. And then activated trouba for the PO. Similar to what they did with chytl. and what vegas did last year and this year. Tamapa did it as well. Both teams won cups doing it

Totally agree with you that he can't be taking up that cap space on the 3rd pairing for an entire season. But, I need Tom to elaborate on how this is negligence on Drury's part. If he's going to constantly make accusations, I want accountability. That's all I'm looking for here. Either Drury is bad and he can scream it all he wants, or he admits that this was not handled badly and we move on. I'm willing to alter my position, but I need more than "Drury bad." |

No. That's not how it works.
Firstly, on March 9th there was probably about $1M of Trouba's contract left to be paid out for the season. So, we would only have that amount to add to our cap space, not $8M.
Secondly, if he didn't get hurt until the day AFTER the trade deadline passed, how do you add another player? We would've had extra room for a contract from Hartford, yes, but that's all.
And thirdly, while Jones acquitted himself well at times, he was by no means going to fill the role of shot-blocking, physical, minute-munching Dman that Trouba provides for us.
So, if Trouba was deemed healthy, what the (frank) are we talking about?
Someone's need to create a negative spin. That's all I can figure. |

Idk, if you can now seperate me from others, but here goes. Trouba getting hurt on March 9th left them with no options via trade. Him playing through a broken ankle and not being put on LTIR is direct fault of Drury. Man refuses to accept that guys get hurt. Chris Drury continues to screw the Rangers. |

I know I should let it go. But, if I'm going to at times stand up for his (and others) right to shout negativity, I'm also going to point out when it is unjustified. I think this is one of those times and I'd like him to explain how I'm wrong, if I am. If he can't, then he should admit he's offbase and move along. There are plenty of issues to point out on this team today, so let's not go looking for problems that aren't there! |

Trouba was on LTIR until he was cleared to be activated. Your dislike of Trouba and his less than stellar stats aside, if he is not medically unfit to play, who is going to play his minutes in the style of play he brings? If we don't have a "replacement" then why would he NOT go back in the line up? Remember, we are being told that at the time of redeployment, he was healthy. |

I've had good discussions with Tom before, and I'm sure I will again. I just think that he's wrongly accusing Drury on this one and I don't think that's ok, given all the blame being heaped on him. No need to see him saddled with shooting JFK, too. |

I actually agree with Tom on Drury this year I didn’t like what he did this year. I get it it’s not easy to acquire players, but I stated all year he waited too long after the fil injury to make a trade. He got some decent additions, but very meh overall |

No, no, no. Last year year and this year sh0wed that Drury doesn't have grasp on LTIR works. I don't propose scenarios. I react to facts. |

I mentioned him earlier in the season, but..
Cody Glass for Kakko is a trade I’d look into. He’s underachieved, but he’s young (25) big and fast…can be RW/C
This would allow Chytil to play RW (which is probably what they’d like to do), Glass can be the 3C and he makes 2.5 for one more season.
Would Nashville do this, idk, but I think if the fans saw Kakko get traded, get a guy who’s had a similar trajectory would ease some of the worries about it |

Yea that’s not bad. I don’t think they’d trade him unless they get a player, not a pick or prospect |
