Hey LA. Regarding your question about if EDM would care about the cap mess next year if they won this year. I don't think they'd care in the slightest. My comment was more pointed at how the Hawks could possibly take advantage of the situation considering that is all we really have to concern ourselves with at this point. |

I still can't believe that move by McDavid last night, unbelievable |

I think what made it most impressive was that it didn't look like he even thought about it. It just happened because he knew how to maneuver like that. I'm hoping the young Hawks are watching these games to identify pieces of their games that need to improve. I was very pleased to hear that KK was diving into Josi's game. That's a really good role model. |

The Konsta kid seems to be ranked anywhere from #3 to #19 amongst the scouting summaries.
He would be a nice add for the Hawks but I think he's a reach at #2 and I don't see him lasting until #18.
I know I've posted before but I really like the scouting summaries on capfriendly. A lot of kids with multiple reports throughout the season.

With one of their 3rd round picks I wouldn’t mind the Hawks selecting Aatos Koivu. He’s a good 2 way centre every team needs. |

The mush of reporting on picks between 2-20 is a toss up. Makes me wonder if this draft just isn’t as deep as last year’s. The best defender is a guy whose highlights are good not great, the top forwards have at least one concern each. Hope we can sift out two impact players |

Pretty sure from day one this draft has been considered not nearly as deep in top talent, but pretty good for defensive depth. |

Kudos to you for explaining the rise and fall in the rating for Helenius.
This is a player who could be a good balancing tool on a second and or third line and I would wish to see him with a Misiak and Ludwinski
That said, I wonder where Greene settles in - what slot. And depending upon whether we move up in the draft, there may be another prospect with a toolset and trajected floor ceiling KD would rather pursue
Oh the intrigue in this Entry Draft |

And it wasn't that he undreesed a plooder like Jared Tinordi, he just danced a really great defenceman in Heiskanen. |

Just saw this on the Columbus blog:
Speaking of Waddell, he told Jeff Marek on his SN show to expect half a dozen new faces in Columbus this summer. Lot of hot seats on the roster.
Sounds like there are going to be a lot of moving parts all over the league this offseason. SJ trying to fill in around Celebrini and Smith. CHI needing to do the same. CBUS looking for new blood with a new GM. Utah with new ownership. Then you have all the teams close to the cap that need to make moves to be more balanced.
Should be fun! |

Jones not going anywhere any time soon. Even if it happen then have fine someone to replace him and the minutes he plays. |

Should be fun! - Chunk Lanie most likely gone but Wonder who else maybe Elvis the goalie be very interesting not only with Columbus but other teams that came up short and up against the cap. Hawks are in very good position not only at number 2 overall but cap space also. Have to think at least one cap dump trade is going to happen with the Hawks and other teams that have abundance of cap space.

There have been several posts about who the Blackhawks draft if they make trades with Montreal and Utah
Can we say these players go 1-4:: Celebrini, Demidov, Lindstrom, D!ckinson
Substitute Parekt or Buium in D!ckinson spot if some team likes a certain dman more than D!ckinson
Which means two of those dmen plus these prospects are waiting to be plucked: Leveshenov, Eiserman, Caton, Yakemchuk. Available if we were drafting at fifth and 6th overall.
I have to wonder what happens with our owned #18 overall. Is it moved too in trade? How many #1 round '24 does KD want because it could be two or more contracts for rookies at same time should they enter the NHL together (same year).
Maybe KD swaps #18 for a #1 2025 or 2926. What year does Bedard's cousin get drafted?
An unlikely scenario would find KD offering a #1 2025 plus another #1 and ? If Celebrini does not want to play in San Jose. Imagine top two lines with Celebrini and Bedard on different line.. Nice balance eh
I realize acquiring both 5th and 6th overall is just rumors swirling but if it happened KD could select two dmen and a forward which is the way I would go. I don't know that both DelMastro and Allen will wind up in Chucago long term but Rinzel might be more likely to play here a long time. If KD wants a mobile but at least some of his dmen to be tough hombre too, just whom is going to be on third pair?
Maybe a reliable Del Mastro and the least good defensively of the other guys
Where BTW is Kaiser going to wind up? I mean he has to start showing more solid defensively else he is moved
