Huh? You can either have one or the other, but not both. Either the entire league gets better, or some teams don't.

The Hawks will certainly be different team next year. They have only 10 forwards that regularly played on the roster signed for next year and four defensemen. Better? We'll see how much. I'm not under any delusions that they will improve 46 points or whatever it was to challenge for a playoff spot, but I can easily see a much better result than last year.

82 points, a point per game, usually guarantees a bottom 10 spot in the standings. 52 points last season? The team should improve but I don't see
them getting out of the bottom 10.

You take demidov and if you cant get one of the top defensemen in this draft you draft one next year

No, you take who your team ranks as the best available this year, then you do the same next year. And if Demidov is the guy, great! If he’s not, great!

Zadorov just turned down $4.5 million for 4 years from Vancouver. He wants term. He should get a term in prison for that move!

If the Ducks offered Zegras and their 3rd OA, for our 2nd OA pick would you make the deal?

McTavish, yes.

I’d love to see him in Chicago. He’s the type of player who shows up in the playoffs.

Zadorov will get some crazy contract and the team who signs him will realize his warts, the same ones they overlooked when they signed him. His defense isn’t great and he’s prone to mistakes.

Weve had this conversation before. To ME, demidov is the second bpa in this draft. But our opinions dont count… only KFC’s.

I don’t, and never had an opinion on who the best available is. The only top prospects I’ve seen live are Sennecke, about 50 times, D!ckinson a few times and Parekh twice. But I think Davidson will select Lindstrom.

I know it's difficult to really say since these teams really haven't fleshed out the rest of the roster around them, but whose top young centers are you more comfortable with in terms of playoff effectiveness?

Anaheim: Mctavish and Carlsson

Chicago: Bedard and Nazar/Moore/possibly Lindstrom?

San Jose: Celebrini and Smith

It's all speculation at the moment, but an interesting exercise.

I take Lindstrom at 2 I know I'm in the minority and take a dman at 18 and 34 or 50

Between #2, #18, #34 and #50 I’d take 2 forwards and 2 d-men, unless some great prospects fall into Chicago’s lap and they can’t refuse taking 3F or 3D.

I did a mock draft online today. I know this will never happen, but it’s a great wish list.

2. Demidov
18. Eiserman
34. Beaudoin
50. Letourneau

The AI was asleep at the wheel for this mock draft.

Elliott Friedman is saying he thinks the Blackhawks will be signing Guentzel on July 1st.

Thoughts??

In hockey, who knows who the BPA is? Unless you find that "unicorn player," big, fast, skilled, great shot, all the intangibles, it's more subjective than any other sport. What you value may not be what I value? Size, skating, IQ etc.

I call B.S. I like E.F., but this goes against everything KFC has been saying about not taking on long term, high value contracts at this stage of the rebuild before they are really ready to compete. Why would he want to come to Chicago now?

Not necessarily, KD has committed to improve the roster next season. This wouldn’t be my first choice, but it would work.

It could. Whether they are or aren't in on Guentzel, would like to see them in on Debrusk. It fits, he's 27 and could play on one of the top 2 lines.

I get what you're saying but I still don't see it. I envision him staying the course by maybe overpaying for 1-2 year deals for guys a notch below the top level UFAs.

I like Debrusk, and he’d be a lot cheaper and less term than Guentzel. Unless the Sharks pass on Celebrini, I’d go after a middle six center as well, such center would be on the second line with the Hawks for now. I want to see the Hawks get better, but they’re not ready for a big money with term contract just yet.

Don't make sense 30 year old small forward unless its 2 or three year deal
What would it take for the Hawks to trade the 2nd overall pick realistically. A bunch of us, including myself, have put together trade proposal but in reality what would it take?
