Since No Marbles Marner has a NMC. If he doesn't sign a new deal this summer or accept a trade this summer, there are really only a few options:
1. He plans to go UFA any way. Has a great regular season, early playoff exit. Walks for nothing. And ends up signing a contract with another team for around the same price as he gets now. NO one is giving him a raise and definitely not 13M except the Leafs.
2. He plans to rape the team again, for $13M++ and hopes he can get it after another personal best regular season, and with JTs shiite contract of the books.
3. He doesn't want to go UFA but gets booed and harassed all season and decides that he can't stay even if he wants to and walks for nothing. Circle back to #1.
4. Some how the Leafs force his hand and he accepts a trade.
5. Some how the Leafs force his hand and he accepts a 8yr extension at the same price with bonuses built in for winning a Cup.
All of it is just a bunch of (frank)ing noise for a whole other season for a guy that can't nut up and play playoff hockey IMO.
Bench his ass all season and let him walk. Who cares. Fuk Marner. |
