Laine at 50% for kakko and pick #30. He wants out and at $4.35m you take a chance - picklerick
Its a risk, yes, but when Laine is playing hes a prolific scorer. Gotta do the "load management" thing with him. |

if the cost isn’t astronomical and 50% is retained it’s almost impossible to not do it. Like you said. When he’s healthy and happy he’s a monster. $4.35m for 2 seasons is basically just buying out goodrow + a lil extra |

I think to get Laine plus the 50%, it might be Kakko, Lindgren and a 1st as a starting point. |

Someone like him, I think, at the right cost to us could be worth that gamble. A team on the cusp of a Stanley Cup appearance could be a motivator for him. |

We can suggest these buyouts all we want, but the organization LOVES Goodrow and Trouba. I really don't see either being bought out. Our roster is what it is for the most part. Whether or not we feel they can get the job done. |

I don't think they have any intention of buying out Goodrow. I do, however, think they are going to explore trade options for Trouba. An $8M third paring defenseman is just not practical for a team with cup aspirations. Regardless if he has the C on his chest or not

I would bet any team would take that. You are talking about a 23yo who was taken second overall who has developed solid defensive game.
Rangers are in win now mode, I doubt they do it. - Brukie
Think the ship has sailed on using the fact that he's a second overall draft pick...second to only Jack Hughes and if you bring that up, KK would be a pure bust.
His age, sure, but no team that's rebuilding is going to cough up their top-15 pick to trade for KK.
Not saying some team won't do it...I just don't see it happening. |

Problem is we can hate all these guys or want them gone, but we have no one in house to really slide in anyway. So regardless we’ll have to pay for defensemen. I’d be stunned if they don’t keep Lindgren after all the blood and sweat he’s given them the last few years. I think he’ll get 4 years, jmo. - Slimtj100
Only way Lindgren gets a contract here is if Trouba is moved. Otherwise roughly 5M for RL, 3M for Schneider, 3M for KK means no cap space left to make improvements. One or either Trouba (entire cap hit) or Lindgren will have to go. |

You would be surprised. Teams remove emotion unlike fans to make business decisions. This is all bc of a hard cap league. Otherwise its a non issue. I could see maybe one but tbh idk what drury has up his sleeve |
