I know I’m in the minority but I couldn’t trade Zib. Unless it blows my doors off with an offer. He had a bad year and majority are ready to give up on him after one bad/off season. It’s gotten silly. Jmo
- Slimtj100

I don’t think I’m giving up on him. He’s still going to be a 70+ pt player etc. But he’s 31, soft, and not built for the playoffs. PLD is coming off a 40 pt season and obviously not happy with his situation. He’s the perfect buy low with huge upside and is 5 years younger than Zib.

I just don’t see him waiving his NMC.

Obviously would have to approve it, but LA isn’t the worst place to live out the rest of your career.

What bothers me is how quick people forget what players do in previous years, he seems to be the whipping boy/poster child for that. Last I checked penalty killing is key for success and he just might be the best PK forward in the NHL. 5 on 5 blah blah blah…get him a god damn RW with skill to match his and he’ll score more
- Slimtj100

Right cause most of the game is played short handed.

"penalty killing is key for success"

"penalty killing is PART of the key for success"

Fixed

The other part of the key to success is SCORING more goals than the other team.

That usually happens 5v5 when most of the game is played.

Dont worry, celebrate the Presidents Trophy.

I still kind of believe Chytil had vertigo. Because that sticks with people a long time. I’m not a doctor lol but seems something like that was the symptom of all the time he missed. They were so quiet about it all so who knows

Yes we can, while we sleep.

Once you wake up, PLD forced his way off 2 teams to get to LA, where he wanted to go and now isnt producing on the third line.

Id keep Mika, he keeps CK20 happy.

Which of his previous teams was he happy with? Hes lazy and unmotivated. Wouldnt change on the rangers.

I just want to remind yet again, whatever you do this year will have a direct effect on the following year when we will need to resign Shesty, LAF and Miller.

The cap is a huge problem. One way or another, Marchessault or not, Trouba has to be off the roster in the 2025 off-season. As much as I would like Marchessault on this team, if Im thinking about it, management is definitely thinking about resigning Shesty, LAF, Miller, Cuylle and Rempe. The least riskiest moves to make this offseason are to just handle everything internally, trade for guys on expiring contracts (as they have done the last couple years) or sign guys to 1yr deals. However, looking at the numbers, it makes me doubt very much that Kakko will be a Ranger next year.

You literally said this not 24 hours ago though

I know, I really want him. However thats the difference between reality and hypothetical dreams.

There are repercussions to every move. Which is why my signing of Marchessault comes with departures of Trouba, Kakko and Chytil. However I dont think even that is enough to make it work.

There is a reason Drury really wanted Eichel and would’ve signed him long term over zib
- nyrangers2

My real concern with Eichel was the neck thing. Apparently thats held up quite well thus far.

Say what u want, but Zib for PLD is a move that gets us going in the right direction. Idc (I’m not worried) about him having attitude problems etc, he’s coming to a veteran team and will be reunited with Panarin, not playing on the 4th line behind Byfield Kopitar and Denault.

Panarin PLD Cuylle (2 physical players that can help Panarin gain some space out there)

Kreider Trocheck Laf (3 guys that can play physical)

3rd line is going to need some work IMO go “get it right”

Othmann Chytil Kakko could be ok, but I think they need a little more of an edge somewhere.

Edstrom Goodrow Rempe

Zadorov 6’6 Fox
Miller 6’5 Schneider 6’3
Stanley 6’7 Trouba 6’3

That’s a defense that wins you playoff games.

Yes. PLD on his 4th team as one of the worst contracts in the league. Yes. Love this. Let's accelerate this down fall.

After that, we should trade for Skinner, Laine and Huberdeau. That will complete the rebuild for a fresh start.
