A good % of both UFA and RFA are resigns of players already in the organization. With all those UFA's only 1 is still on the roster. Both years where he traded more, were years he had to tear down his roster due to losing.

The roster has 10 openings, 5 being RFA's:

Krebs
Bryson
Clague
Joker
UPL

Adams needs to add 8 players to the roster, with the assumption that UPL and Krebs get resigned.

Which route do you feel most confident in Adams taking to fill those openings?

General rule of thumb for me:

Draft = future player, typically 3+/- years out. Get highly skilled player in Rd 1 & 2, then Role players thereafter. Draft a Goalie every year.

Trades = acquire upper-level, skilled talent for L1 and L2 .. perhaps L3

Free Agents = fill in void areas for L3 and L4.

Tell them they'll get the 2nd back they sent to NY, Kulich and a 5th. See what they say. IMO that's about market value. The 1st + Novikiov + Kulich is too much for me. Keep in mind they got him for a 2nd and a bottom6 forward, they'd be making more with our offer than they paid.

Well he just came of back to back 60 pt seasons, and the trade comes with a fake extension. So I really don't think it's out of the ballpark

Don't think it's reality that you can be a GM and stick to only paying what you feel is fair for every deal that could be made.

There are times an overpayment would need to happen.

If you only want to overpay for superstars, the unemployment line will be coming rapidly for you as a GM.

Bennett was much more subtle imo and he didn't leave his feet which is supposed to be an ultimate no no

This is a charging call. Its in the rule book. Tripping is no no, boarding, interference. They do not suspend players for these things.

Bennet legit punches Marchand in the face, cause he was going to get hit. How the frank is that a hockey play? How is that subtle? Cause the refs weren't in direct eye sight?

I dont care who the receiving player is or what history they have. It means nothing.

One had intent. The other doesn't. Thats where you draw the line

Yes he charged. There was no intent to hit him in the head. Nothing led up to it. Its what 2-1 at the time? in the 3rd? Why in the world would Leon(who has no history) do that?
