Yes I do. It's very easy to see the incompetence that was (or is) in place too.

On paper, Adams could have traded assets for a veteran player or 2 . He chose the internal growth method .

I really think they were waiting until guys like power get older before we really go for it (just an opinion)

the bills gains way outweigh the sabres financial losses IMO
- homiedclown

For sure homie

I just really don’t think pegula cares enough about winning or breaking the playoff curse

It’s all speculation unless you are in the room.

But like Taco said, Adams for the most part is an open book, and the Mittlelstadt trade being a 1 for 1 trade can lead one to conclude within reasonable doubt that he was only being dealt for a specific return and that he was not being actively shopped as you were insinuating

- Swedish_Jesus

If teams know he's available and what you're looking for, there's not much of a difference here.

The Atlanta Falcons on Thursday were docked a fifth-round pick in the 2025 draft and fined $250,000 for violating the NFL's anti-tampering policy related to free agent signings, while the league cleared the Philadelphia Eagles of tampering while signing running back Saquon Barkley this offseason.

The tampering violations for the Falcons were a result of "improper contact" with three players prior to their official unrestricted free agency period: quarterback Kirk Cousins, wide receiver Darnell Mooney and tight end Charlie Woerner.

In addition to the team penalties, the NFL fined Falcons general manager Terry Fontenot $50,000.

The more years that go by, the more I feel like the Sabres (as an asset) is really all pegula cares about.

The Sabres as a franchise are worth more year after year, expansion team after expansion team.

The yearly losses offset the Buffalo Bills gains imo

- Boss34

I don't think he has the willingness to spend with the top teams and lose money any longer. Can't say I blame him, if that's the case.

The above is a crock of poop, unless you're on board with a GM who has no spine to say no.

The GM gets zero blame for consistently bending over backwards to try and make everyone happy instead of focusing on making the best moves possible to produce the best hockey team on ice?

- kingcong39

Paul Hamilton or Rob Ray somewhat confirmed this.

Greenway Granato “pounded the table” story

Then Clifton was under Donny during the USA hockey days

Think his point was that it doesn't render the GM powerless and blameless.

Your still the GM of a Hockey Team, Donnie beats the Table doesn't mean you have to agree. Most GM'S try to give a Coach players they think fit.

I still think Clifton was a decent signing .

Sure there’s a buffatax but that’s signing an ufa

He really picked up his game and should be allowed to hit and play angry under Lindy. I think his game take off imo

Im sure he didn't have to leave his feet. He wanted to hit him hard for sure. The elbow catches him. He doesn't lead with his elbow into his head.. This happens a lot when a bigger player hits a smaller player.
- DirtyDan

That's some funky mental gymnastics, lol. I certainly didn't see it like that

I'd say 3rd pair D is a buyer's market. I think they overpaid because they thought he could be more.

problem is adams overpaid him on his last deal

stillman would be a cheaper option but clearly adams had no desire to bring him up last season

I would prefer someone from the outside like Brendan Smith for the 7th
