Hockey is a crazy game. Two straight shots off the post with the goalie down and out turns into a odd man rush for a shortie. A shanked shot that goalie flies across and stops instead of tying the game. Then a bunch of sloppiness that Edmonton feasted on and just buried them.

They’ll trade the 11th pick if it helps them acquire help for the NHL roster. The challenge, though, is that teams will prefer a high-end prospect such as Kulich or Savoie because it is easier to project what those two can become in five years

If these guys don't stall or decline, their value usually rises above their pick, especially if they're outside the top 5.

This is the opinion I subscribe to as well.

That is not to say a prospect selected 2nd round of a recent draft is worth more than 11-OA...but Komarov is worth far more than his 5th round selection. Kulich is more valuable than 28th, and quite likely 11th-OA unless a team is in l9ve with a specific draft prospect.

Trades will reveal the truth, until then this is paid for hype in an attempt to fluff the value of the 1st round picks that couldn’t make a bottom 10 roster that was void a 3rd line.
