This train is pretty comical.
First, Foppa very correctly notes that Kaprizov is a superstar winger that is a proven commodity. Seider is a fantastic piece and plays a more vital position. but 9 out of 10 GMs would admit to Kaprizov beeing a more impactful player. He then notes Minny has one of the top goalie prospects. Anyone with a basic understanding knows he's speaking about Wallstedt.
Jfkst1 replies and cautions that Gustavsson is 26, mediocre, and I sure hope that's not who you are referring to.
Others quickly clarify to Jfkst1 that the reference is Wallstedt.
But now Jfkst1 backpedals to discuss how goalie prospects are less predictable. Haha. Stop digging. You forgot about Wallstedt, or weren't really aware who he is. Admit that and move on. Minny isn't going anywhere this year. Smart move is sell off a few pending UFAs. But tnext year they get $13M of dead cap space back. MAF and his $2.5M get replaced with Wallstedt on an ELC. They have the potential to retool quickly. |

It is comical because it takes serious delusion to count on a 21 year old goalie prospect being a strong future contributor. I know nothing about Wallstedt nor does it matter because until he is playing regularly in the NHL, he's an extreme unknown. The league has had many hundreds of goalie prospects appear promising and amount to nothing. At one point Matt Murray appeared to be a franchise goalie. Reality is franchise goalies are the rarest players in the modern era so anyone counting on Wallstedt being that are taking the most optimistic of outlooks. |

No one's counting on anything. If you think Detroit has a better near term future than Minnesota, awesome. I'd sincerely rather have them in my division than Minny who's played pretty tough the last few seasons while being at a severe resource disadvantage - which is about to change. But we'll find out what kind of legs either team has (and maybe just how mediocre John Hynes is) soon enough. Great talking hockey with you. |

I stopped reading when you said you knew nothing about Wallstedt. That was evident many posts earlier. Also noticed how the goalposts moved from having a top goalie prospect to now being a franchise goalie. Why not aim higher and say Hall of Fame goalie? Nice chat.

The goal post never moved. It's a basic connection in the context of which franchise is better situated for the future. Of which you three are claiming Wallstedt is a competitive advantage. I look forward to the revisionist history accounts in five years when he's still not an NHL regular and MIN hasn't played beyond the 1st round. |

So EDM should’ve had a 5 on 3 because FLA CLEARLY f’ing cleared it over the glass, but no call.
No review (as per rule)
If a Canadian team is going to win a cup it will take beating 4 nhl teams and the ref. League looses so much credibility |

Can't review it and it wasn't clear. Drai should have received a major for the elbow to Barkov's head. Any comment on that? |

Yeah that was a roughing call Clearly left his feet and delivered a head shot with an elbow and the zebras call that roughing This league really sucks Dead Puck era is returning Ek said a lot of goals to be scored That was the kiss of death I have an idea Why don't the increase the salary cap so that they can pay these guys even more money to get less production More for Less That is a great idea Just like inflation is a great way to go More money for less groceries What a novel idea |

Well not so clearly, because the call was correct. Puck was still on Stenlund's stick when it was was over the blueline and that's the determining factor, not where his feet are.

Personally, this angle is misleading. I don't believe the puck is on his stick in that frame. It's already airborne. He scooped the puck inside his zone and lifted it. There is an angle where you can see the puck is airborne before the blueline. This stillframe is the follow through but the puck isn't on his stick anymore.
Either way, these things happen. Some calls go your way. Some don't. Oilers probably should have won game 1, but lost game 2. They didn't. So have to win at home where they will have better ice conditions and better matchups.

Just as an aside, I honestly do not care who wins this series. The Oilers are one of my favorite non-Islander teams to watch currently and I'd love to see them win a Cup. I have no qualms with Florida and, as an Isles fan, I would love to see Okposo get a Cup at the end of his career.
That said, every angle of that play I saw it looks like the puck laying flat on his stick until it breaks the plane of the blueline. I am assuming here that it's the same as offsides where the entire puck would have to be inside the zone for it to be called a penalty. The rule doesn't seem to clarify that but I don't think it's unfair to assume that's the case. Dave Jackson, former ref and current ESPN rules analyst, confirms all of that (except the part I'm assuming).
And, after all that, if (on this play/offsides/any play) we need to slow things down and review them in super slow-mo, one grainy frame at a time...it's probably so close that I don't have a problem with it going uncalled. |

I thought and still believe Florida will win but the stage is set for McDavid to have the game of his life on Thusrday and the Edmonton fans to give it their all. Either Florida will smother them again (last night is exactly how I thought the series would look) or there'll be high drama. It has a high chance of being the most interesting game of the year so far.
Does Draisaitl have some sort of injury? He doesn't look right.
Hey Ek - why not start a new thread for people to talk about the game last night? It's the Final and people want to talk about it and there's a lot to talk about. Seems like sort of a lay-up to get your click counts up. I know people are posting to this one but you might generate a little more with a dedicated post. |

I recently read an article on the best website UX blog and found a lot of valuable ideas that have helped improve my business. The article discussed key usability principles such as ease of navigation, fast page loading, and responsive design. Using these recommendations, I redesigned my company's website, improving its structure and appearance. This led to an increase in the time spent by users on the site and an increase in conversions. In addition, I introduced new features such as customer chat and an improved search engine, which increased customer satisfaction and loyalty. |
