Little nicky is the perfect candidate to leave the leafs to become a 30 goal scorer
- Fakepartofme

I'm a believer in this kid ...if he can stay healthy.

He quietly bagged 14g in 56 games. That's a 20g pace for a guy playing 11 minutes per night with bottom liners.

I'd pencil him into the top 6 and let him play with the big boys and see PP time. If (big if) he stays healthy I bet he snags 25+ goals and no reason why he can't be as good defensively as Domi or Bert.

BS tripping call. Buddy dove out to avoid getting hit. Pathetic game management.

And Bob wtf was that?!?! šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤¬

I can respect how this might be overkill, but my opinion is Knies' ceiling is around "closet thing the NHL has seen to Wendel Clark since Wendel Clark". You don't trade that ever, as impossible as finding a young top 4 RHD is its going to be easier than finding another Knies.

The Ducks are probably not a great comparable in any Marner trade. They're loaded with nice futures but the leafs need players who are difference makers now in return, they're not trading Marner or any star player to go futures for 2-3 years.

Greedy Mitch thinks it's in his best interest to not waive and leverage this team right to the open market anyways.

Sportsnet: that hit was actually clean and the 5min penalty was too much

ABC: that guy totally deserved getting kicked out of the game

Agree, watch it in slowmo. Oilers player never stuck out a knee, the Panthers player tried to avoid the hit and left his leg out. It was more a 2 mins for tripping against Florida then anything.

I'll be in the minority, but I disagree. It's a dangerous play with high probability of injury, akin to a hit from behind. On a guy who missed the finals last year with a broken leg no less.

The rulebook likely disagrees with me too (or maybe not - it was called a major šŸ¤·), but the onus should be on the hitter to ensure they're pulling back in that scenario. Just like hitting a dude in the numbers can be unavoidable, but despite that you see numerous players able to let up cause they know there's a high chance it's 5 and a game if they go full tilt.

Should be the NHL's version of hit on a defenseless receiver, put the onus on the hitter and get that poop out of the game. šŸ¤®

Knies ā€¦ at this point for me is more Darcy Tucker, which is still pretty damn good because I loved him.

So much movement on the Oiler powerplay. Leafs PP so static in comparison.

well the Leafs power plays always looks for Matthews and they don't have a boom of a shot like Bouchard has from the point either.
so yeah static they are or predictable

It's his maturity and composure at such a young age that make me think less Tucker and more Clark.

Of course there's many paths he could end up on, I see a 40 goal scorer who will hit like a truck and defend his teammates without hesitation.

Pivotal 3rd period

If Edmonton loses this period my estimation of their chances will plummet

Knies reminds me more of a Wheeler/Kreider type of guy. Doesn't quite have their wheels but moves really well for that size. Decent shot, underrated mitts and uses his size but doesn't really go looking to cause pain like Clark or chaos like Tucker. Knies can also play both ends ...Clark and Tucker were not so good there.

God I loved Clark ...a tasmanian devil ..fearless, nasty and somehow polite about it all.
