That offer gets it done
And gets us into the playoffs
Chances are there is a better player than Ek at 11 but don't want to wait 3-4 years to develop. - sabresfan69

If we don't trade it, it's Iginla/Yakemchuk or bust. |

It takes 2 teams to make a trade. How silly to not realize that ……
McDavid for 11OA , kulich, power, peterka , and 2025 unprotected 1st
No way they say no lol |

I’m trying to get some nhl proven vets with some grit and pk skills.
4.9 is 2 million more than girgs most likely.
Coleman brings way more than girgs - Boss34
If Girgs is your gold standard for contracts, it all makes sense.

I’m upgrading a bottom 6 position on this team for Rosen and 2 million more per season for the next 3 years.
Maybe Calgary holds back 1 million, because we’re given a decent prospect
I guess we’ll just keep Girgensons? |

Why not just choose different players? Girgs isn't the only UFA in the league. Not trying to be a jerk, but the fixation with him needs to stop. He gone and we're better for it |

Benson should be in there.
I'm not sure I hate that D core. Joker goes, bring up RyJo full time. Winning? |

I forgot benson, thank you .
So that leaves 2 forward spots open if they sign Girgensons
I think Savoie takes 1 of those spots
Coleman would be an upgrade at 3C imo |

How many names on their list of bottom 6 options? 20? 30?
I think you agree with my main point here. A flukey 30 goal season is going to make a trade difficult. You may be willing to give up a 1st round asset for him, I would look at other options.

only change from last year on the ice
is coleman for casey and adding byram full time
a roster that is trying to sneak into the 7th or 8th seed that is, not something to compete with the leafs, bolts, panthers , rangers, canes or bruins |

I wish I had enough confidence in Adams to bet you lol. At this point, I'll just he'll be gone if Adams values his job. If he doesn't, then poop we may see Slowpoko and Olo back in the blue and gold on long terms. I'm not sold that Girgs will get an NHL contract offer tbh. |

Maybe Rosen is an overpayment and Calgary would hold back 1-1.5 million in payment
As I look at the roster , there’s only a couple forward positions open imo
I’d love to move on from skinner, greenway and even girgs if they start to win .
I think all 3 will be returning , which only leaves a few spots available
Savoie feels like a lock come October for one spot
These are just my opinions, I’d rather see some new faces as well, but KA hasn’t shown to be a guy ready to roll in a new roster year after year |

Agree to disagree
When/if girgs leaves, he’s definitely still going to be an nhl player. No way he goes from 1 year 2.5 million to unemployed.
He’s only 30, and I get that he’s stale. Guys still a proven nhl imo |
