What if they give him an extension? I agree after getting burned somewhat by Debrincat…they may want an extension in place to make the deal….if that’s the case maybe it’s a little less of a price tag. - landros 2
If TK gets an extension from Flyers it's coming with a NMC or NTC...he isnt signing an extension with Flyers to be shipped off to Ottawa. |

Oh god. Poor g. I can’t imagine he’s happy with the way things have gone in Ottawa so far . Imagine if they miss the playoffs again next year? - Hextall271
It's not very realistic, but I don't want to watch the league's last ranked PP for the fourth season in a row. |

Losing Cutter Gauthier really put a kink in the Flyers re-tooling/rebuilding plan, if there ever was one. There isn't a top six center prospect to be found anywhere with him gone, and it was no guarantee he was going to be a center in the NHL. They've got a few good picks in now with the kids they've taken in the past couple drafts but they need to trade some vets and start this thing over again building through the middle of the ice.
If they can get some serious value for TK, Loughton and or Couturier right now, they absolutely need to get that done. |

where do you come up with this? not one person has said he doesn't have value.
you seem to think some team will overpay for tk the superstar. they will not. the trade template for players like him is pretty much set.
the offers they get will be fair and solid. therefore, imo they will not move him (unless tk forces their hand). just like they said they need an overpayment to move scoty phucking Laughton. - hello it's me 2050
This is why I would look to retain on Konecny. You can get a 30 goal guy at 2.7mil for this year, that should interest a lot of teams because it would still allow for them to make other moves to strengthen their teams.

absolutely you retain imo as well. been saying that for a year.
a tk/laughton package at a 5.7 combined cap hit is attractive. Take some money back to enahnce any said deal. |

No, the other way around, I am way, way more right than wrong. The Flyers are rebuilding whether you like it or not. A rebuild does not equate to firesale, ice a team full of 21 year old kids and look forward to a top 10 pick in the draft every year. That is the Buffalo Sabres, who have picked in the top 10 (including 2 top overall picks) since the 2013 NHL draft. In fact this is the first draft since 2012 the Sabres are not picking in the top 10. Sorry, I want no part of this legacy for the Flyers.
TK will be extended and its the right thing to do. He is a Flyer true and true, and is a leader, as well as a hell of a good hockey player. The Flyers cannot build a contender by jettisoning every good player they have. They need to decide which players are part of the solution and keep them, and TK is defintely part of the solution.
The Flyers may sign 1 or 2 depth free agents for short money, but mark my words, there will be more subtraction than addition this off season, barring and big trades. - jd250
😂 you really know how to make someone laugh. Only most of us will be crying because we know the ‘solution’ you’re talking about is becoming stuck in mediocrity . |

In hindsight, of course, would you rather have Drysdale and a 2nd or do you wish the Flyers had just drafted David Jiricek at #5 instead? - Quetzalcoatl
Personally, because of drysdales injury history I’d have preferred the later or to have kept cutter. We need that top end talent and it hurts to have lost that. - Hextall271
Guys, what are we doing here? There was no scenario where Cutter Gauthier stays. In a perfect world Cutter signs and plays for the Flyers in 4 months from now. |

Ginning re signed. A little surprised, kind of felt by the end of the year he was not that close to securing a top 6 role. May be a clear out is coming with possibly Zamula and Attard leaving. - Trox88
shocked he went with the 2 way. hopefully they do not sign any vet. let him attard and zamula battle it out. |

TK has value especially if retain $$....Laughton may get them a 2nd rd pick...Couts is untradeable with his injuries and that term on his contract. Agree with your premise of trading for some additional assets |

TK's trade value is not going to be as high as it could be because he needs to be extended, and for any team other than the Flyers, TK would ask for a max deal with probably a full NMC and no home town discount. I think a player like Frost or Farabee would be more intriguing to a team like Ottawa. - jd250
A max deal is somewhere around 14M a year or so. Is this another situation where you are right?

With a year left on his current deal he could still be Carter'd/Richard'd before the NMC kicks in 😂 |

Does TK on his own get you a top 10 pick in the draft? I would think no. Does adding a late first with TK get you a top 10 pick? I would think no. Not a chance Pinto gets added to that deal.

I do think Pinto could be traded. Stutzle and Norris are signed long term. Greig is a center who is already in the top 9. Pinto is an RFA.

Absolutely I do that if I’m the Flyers. I doubt Ottawa does it unless they know TK will sign, otherwise they make the same DeBrincat mistake all over again. If Demidov falls or any of these 1D potential draftees fall, Flyers need to make that deal if it’s available. But they aren’t rebuilding so they will sign TK to a ridiculous contract |

Happy to see the Flyers re-sign defenseman Adam Ginning to a contract extension! I think he can be a solid bottom pairing defenseman in the NHL. |
