Another small forward, I m not against it if it happens. Joshua and DeBrusk could be options also - Scott1977
Joshua would be a great addition to the bottom 6. He knows his role and he excels at it.
I like DeBrusk in the top 6, but I’m worried about how much his next contract will be. Is 6 years at $5.5 million palatable? He’s a young UFA at 27 so you’d get 3-4 years of top performance. |

I believe if Jiricek is there for the Blackhawks at 18, that will be there pick. - BetweenTheDots
There was a time when I would have shoke my head and agreed, but missing the entire season absically kills the good vibes teams were feeling. (Remember when I said "you can count on when Jiricek naem is called the high tier ends when he gets his name called...) I think if the Blackhawks take a defenseman at 2, they aren't looking at him as this golden nugget when he drops to #18.
The Blackhawk's management probably are going hope that a prospect who all others scouting staffs in the top #17 were NOT interested in takling will drop into their laps.
I am sure I see prospects on my 7 round draft that will not be taken in the top 17 and others not in my top 17 that the Hawks like a lot, as there are plenty of nice choices.
Would taking a second RH defenseman in the top #18 filling out the teams depth with a second RD to play with Leschv' and Minnesota's own Sam Rinzel?
I basically fills all the need for future defenseman for awhile...If they pan out. |

As I mentioned on the podcast, the Utah Hockey Club is open to moving the sixth overall selection.
Is it me or is there an unusual amount of top draft picks being available for trades a bit odd.
Almost as if teams don't think this year's group of prospects is that good.
I wonder how many will trade their pick away and what that number will look like against 2023 numbers |

Utah needs to put butts in seats so they can't be dreadful.
New Jersey, Buffalo, Ottawa - should have had better seasons. Jersey had some really unfortunate injury problems and Ruff I don't think is a very good coach (lol Buffalo).
Buffalo and Ottawa should have been in the playoff discussion, Ottawa especially and those GM's are going to be out of a job if they don't turn it around this year I'd imagine. Or theyre going to have to start retooling before they even get competitive. |

I don't know about that with Utah
Barney said that SEG has received more than 34,000 season ticket deposits since April 18. The franchise said that 92 percent of those who placed deposits on season tickets are non-Utah Jazz season ticket holders and 63 percent have not attended an event at the Delta Center in the past year.

All these teams want to improve their roster and will be interested in players to help their team now rather than a package of prospects or future picks. Utah could use some "star power" or a face of the franchise, and Ottawa and NJ are looking to upgrade their goaltending. Jones and Mrazek are two names that would fit the bill, but then KD would have to make other moves to get a top pairing D to skate 25 minutes a night and find a starting goalie. As much as I would like to see the Hawks get another top 10 pick, I don't see it happening. |

I believe Jones will be a Blackhawk for a while, considering how well Mrazek played last year vs high danger scoring chances, able to stay healthy, i can definitely see him being a trade asset if KD wants to go that route. |

The very loud buzz is that Demidov will play out his KHL season in 2024-25, and then sign his NHL deal at the end of the playoffs.
Depending on timing, he should be ready to cross over to end the NHL regular season.

Reading the newest Athletic article by the draft gurus, and found Pronman'snswer totally funny!
Where does my team need to pick to have a realistic expectation of landing a future top-six forward or top-four defenseman?
Pronman: I have 18 players in this draft that I’m very passionate about and project as top-six forwards or top-four defensemen on competitive teams.
You think he analyze his way to this or that he just piggy-back on the Blackhawk's analytics team as he does all his "scouting."
Wheeler: If your team is drafting in the top 15 this year, you’re going to get a very good player. There may be a small group of them available for a short time after that. |

Apparently Milstein (Demidov's agent) said that Demidov and the Blackhawks are having dinner tonight?
I believe it was Robinson who said the kid is apparently bigger than expected and his English is pretty good as well. |

Are they sure it's Demidov though? Passport, birth certificate, DNA analysis checks out?
Those Cossacks can be sneaky little buggers you know.

Agree, however where there’s smoke, there’s fire. That’s three or four teams that have been mentioned as willing to move their pick. All the mocks and ratings are all over the place, so we’ll see. Ten more days.
