If Leveshunov and Owen Power were in the same draft? Which one would you take? - LAHawk
The right hander Lev, who right now may not be as big as Power's was coming out but clearly had a much more productive season as a college defenseman than Owen Power did.
Defenseman like Power take longer, but there is no denying bigger men this fluid have a lot more chance to develop good habits, grow into really solid defenseman at a size that makes it more difficult to play against, as in Florida's Eckblad, harder to contend with in close than Forsling or Montour.... |

How about not entering the political realm in the first place? - mohel
How about we talk about the politics of this possible Winnipeg trade? (that I like a lot.)

They'll get better offers than a second rounder - GPHawksfan
The Philadelphia Flyers traded forward Cutter Gauthier to the Anaheim Ducks on Monday night in exchange for defenseman Jamie Drysdale and a second-round selection in the 2025 NHL draft.

Not sure what you're asking Rico but I am asking should they draft Demidov? Who do you take at 2? - HawkintheD
Oh, I haven't really changed at all except for dropping Parekh on my board. Sky high offensive ceiling but with the #2 sky high risk.. I'm still ok with them drafting D!ckinson, Buium, Levshunov or Lindstrom at #2 but have dropped Parekh of that list.
I have Demidov as the BPA, Buium is who I hope they pick and think they draft Levshunov. ...... But, my desire on draft day is they draft Demidov and come on that night and KD says we are nearly 100% positive he'll come over in a yr or two after talking to the kid, his agent and every resource/contact we have in Europe thinks he'll come over too.
You?

The Jets are not just letting McGroarty walk unless they get a comparable pick, and more. Without comparing the picks #14 in 2022, to the Isle acquired #18, I see the Jets are going to need more defenseman and the thought of Murphy being the another asset that helps sell the Winnipeg fans may not be enough; I send them Kaiser, or Phillips or another prospect to soften the idea. |

Sooo... they say don't draft Levshunov #2 and don't draft Buium, Parekh, or Richardinson in the top five. Only two D in the top five (they apparently like Silayev better than anyone) when it is the strength at the top of the draft? Not sure they thought that through. - Chunk
Right and that only leaves Forwards to over draft in the top 10.

Mo, respectfully I think you're overreacting. A few posted political content and IMO with no malice meant to anyone. And you and others are right, this isn't the place for politics unless it related to hockey but in the current climate politics will creep in every once in awhile.
It ain't like the vitriol that spilled here when the tourists charged the capital. .... Again, I agree about not talking politics here but don't think anyone meant any harm to anyone else.
Who they drafting, Mo, and who do you hope they draft?

As presented the trade with WPG would be a dream for the Hawks but I don't see Peg making that trade. Why would they? Ehlers and McGroarty would bring a helluva Dman if that's what the Jets are looking for. A much better Dman than Murphy, who would be the centerpiece of what the Hawks would be sending.
Ehlers at 28 would give Bedard the skill he needs on his line immediately. McGroarty would be the prospect with size they don't have in the top 6 or in the pipeline with a size/skill toolkit to project as an NHL power forward.......Those two players would check some high priority organIzational boxes.
I'd overpay for those two players.

Here in Canada we can have the luxury of voting for the person with the funniest name if we want to since we have enough parties. Watching American politics is watching this massive train wreck, and the ones with skin in the game don't seem to see what needs to be done. It all seems to be on the verge of becoming like democracy in India. If I was voting in the states, I would be seriously scared. - wizardofi
At least in Chicago you can vote as many times as you like. |

I'm pretty sure they are listening to offers, but probably won't be trading out of this spot.

There's no need to bid against ourselves. Peg (frank)ed up and didn't make McG feel like he would be an important addition to the team.
I'm definitely not giving Murphy, Reichel and 18 for him. Like Necas or anyone else my trade will be conservative and what's best for the Blackhawks. Last thing i want to do is make a trade where my addition to the team is actually a subtraction to the org.

Waddle acting like a big player, he's hoping one of these GM's make a ridiculous offer since no one wants anything to do with Laine. |

But then you have to pay Ehlers the following year, if there was any truth to this i have to believe KD would want a contract extension in place for Ehlers and that can't happen till FA signings start in a week. |

Yes, I don't think there is something Kyle can do in this aquistion that harms the Hawks in the standings long term.
Ehlers played 82 games, but has spent the 5 seasons before in injury protocal situations.
McGroaty is smart USA NTeam guy whose played with Nazar, is schooled to play the right way and he would add size.
I just don't see it any way but win.
It is not like trading a vet , a def prospect and a draft pick kills any motion forward.

I thought the same, but they CAN ask the Jets for the ability to talk to his reps and agree on a deal in principle.
I'd be happy with Rutger McGroarty and I would overpay---Ehlers doesn't up the ante much BECAUSE he will be looking for a cash in.

We are no where near the poverty level in India. Id be scared to if people were poopting in the streets and water was scarce. Politician is another name for self interest group and how i can build my family fortune. - BetweenTheDots
It's the politics of India, not the economics. I don't believe I was talking about the economics, though if that is where you went, you might want to look more on the politics than the economics.
