I thought KD said he wanted to improve the team on the ice next year, instead of surfing for other teams garbage.

I think that's why he's going to be picky in whatever deal he makes, if he makes a trade at all.

Depends what the trade is, I'm not saying that's what Davidson going to do but he is in a position to do so if he thinks it's the right deal to help the Hawks now and in the future.

Bring picky into who we draft
Could you imagine a discussion among Blackhawk management/scouts etc.al regarding whether to choose Leveshunov or Silayev?
What do you hope to see happen in development with both?

All i hope for j is they hit a home run with whoever they draft at number 2.

Development? Whatever they feel is the best course for whoever they draft.

LR's nephew. He is also an injury waiting to happen. He has played one 82 game season in his career and it was the last one. Odds favor he will miss time for the next 2 seasons.

Could it mean they see the reality of Korbumski?

- Elbows15

It could mean a forward at #2. and they want a defenseman also

This entire thing about who to draft or not to draft is interesting. I draft the most talented, not a bad skater, combined with the most compete player i can if it's a forward, defense you need skill, skating helps but size helps as well. Top 4 dmen don't grow on trees, and 100+ point forwards don't either. Very tough decision but I'm trusting KD to make the right decision with the 2nd pick whoever that may be.

Pronman thinks the Hawks take Levshunov 2nd. I agree.

Pronman has 18 through 23:
Brandsegg-Nygard
Eiserman
Beaudoin
Greentree
Connelly
Boisvert

You can make a case for any one of these. Any of them would be ok with me.

But it raises the question of the value in moving up 2 spots from 20 to 18. Of course that all changes if Hage or Solberg fall into their laps at 18.

Is there a chance that they trade back if there are multiple players available that they like equally at 18 or if the player(s) they thought would be there at 18 are not.

I kind of hope not! I´m leaning between Demidov and Lindstrom. But that´s just me.

Ivan Demidov’s official NHL Pre Draft height is 6’0.5 Weight 192lbs. #WeAreGoldStar!

According to his agent's twitter profile..they even have it on video

Compared to the 5'10/5'11 170lbs numbers that were being posted all year long there is a bit of a difference.
Not sure it'll sway Kyle,Soupy and mgmt but whatever.

They probably put him on “the rack” and stretched him. Then they put lead weights in his pants. (Red font)

I don’t mind Wheeler as he at least explains and backs up his opinion. Pronman has no clue and just vomits out random talking points based off clips he is shown. Doesn’t watch film because he doesn’t know how to evaluate or look for. Truly made it w/ the “fake it til you make it” philosophy

Kyle will doubtlessly have some moves coming as he has rolled up his sleeves. I am wondering however if there could be interest in any trades up or down with first round picks. If there is a trade involving a draft choice, this may interfere with other transactions, Kyle most likely is not in a place with that second overall where he is jumping for joy like in those Toyota commercials On the contrary, Kyle has been exploring draft day moves maybe if he is driving about in a Hot rod Lincoln like that old song says.

Maybe trying to move up the 18th OA, but if it were me and i believe in my ability to see talent, 2nd OA is way better than 3rd or 4th.

Again showing he just might know what's he's doing, or at least has a plan and is sticking to it.

According to some on the BOD, he's inept i.e. Vlasic contract.

Hell, by now I would have expected that he'd be wheeling and dealing and locking up picks 3 thru 5 in this draft.

The deal you didn't mention is the type you want to see him making, where San Jose trades a 2025 4th and gets a 23 yr old LW in Ty Dellandrea.

I am not advocsting TY as the youngster we should target, but as the type of trade he is looking for.

Boy, the Kings over-reacted to error and took the on the decline Kuemper and gifted them with a young centre Dubois who crapped the bed while making milliosn, BUT he can improve.

Kyle didn't have the 1st pick if he even desired Goodrow, and Dubois is cost prohitive as the Blackhawks have to pay their "improved nucleus" in 2027.

Personally don't see a poor season as a bad consolation (already!) because i love the top seven picks going next year.

What if you believe the same player is available at one or two spots later? Or you are torn between Leshnokov and Silayev (the two Russian dmen!)

Not rushing around for a Russian? Do you say Nyat (Russian for “No”). Could we extract even through a third team moving up an 18th for _____ pick. Could mean we get someone like fast riser like Seneca (whatever his name) or gasp Eiserman?

From Spector's blog

The Chicago Blackhawks could attempt to sign Jake Guentzel as an unrestricted free agent on July 1. They want to alleviate the pressure off Connor Bedard and appear the most willing to meet Guentzel’s anticipated asking price of $63 million. They can also offer him an opportunity to play closer to his home in Minnesota.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: That anticipated asking price breaks down to $9 million annually on a seven-year deal. Playing alongside the promising Bedard could also be tempting for Guentzel.

Just read (Fourth Period I think) that the Hawks are considering Chychrun (who’s a lefty, but has played the right side). Not sure how I feel about it, but the term and price aren’t bad.
