Their picks are dismal but that's what a competitive team does with picks. Prospect wise, they don't have high end d-men prospects but people act like the leafs never had prospects but they do/did and the team does fairly well with them. (Except goalies...its a blackhole for some reason)

They also do fairly well grabbing guys off the scrap heap that turn into something.

I agree but they probably leaned on him too much. If he plays less games (41 or less) then he's still a short term option until they can sign or acquire somebody better next offseason when the Tavares contract expires.

Talbot played 54 games last year and finished with way better numbers than Samsonov. If the Leafs can get .915 SV% for 41 games, it's a win. Woll can, hopefully, play the other half of the games and it should keep them both at their healthiest and at their best.

The only Panthers who might deserve it are Bobrovsky and Barkov. Bob's been good, but not Conn Smythe worthy. There's been some push for Barkov as well. He's had his moments.

He's had 4 or more points 4 times these playoffs.

None of our star players - Matthews, Marner, Nylander or Tavares have ever had more than 3 points in a playoff game let alone 4 times in one year.

PLD has much lesser line mates in LA than JT. But totally respect that opinion.

TBH not even sure I care much about PLD unless 50% but it was also the chance to get Matt Roy and Brandt Clarke and lose Marner's Cap hit that made the deal more appealing to me.

Still want Roy (UFA) and young Brandt Clarke though....and LAs 1st...over Marner's rising cost. Figured the deal for a "broke playoff" Marner might be more acceptable to another GM if it included a "broke" PLD and I still think PLD as at least a 3C for $4.25 would be great for the Leafs for the next however many years.

I overlooked the 50% retained (probably becauase of my dislike for PLD if I'm being honest) and the other 2 adds would be a nice haul for Marner I just really disklike PLD and haven't seen him do anything anywhere but be a distraction and whiner.

Guess we will see what happens, let's not kid ourselves though pretty likely that Marner, JT, Matthews, Willy Styles are all Leafs on opening night next season.
