Unless chatgpt is wrong - Lindgren has only missed 8 regular season games since 2019. Always hurt but always plays.

Slight adjustment
There weren't 410 games. Due to the pandemic, one year there was 70 games, and one year there was 56 games, so only 372 total, and Lindgren has played 328 over that time. So he has missed 44 games over the last 5 years

Yes, ChatGPT is wrong. Do not rely on it for anything. He missed 25 games the last 2 seasons |

Either way it’s great
Epic collapse by Florida
Or Edmonton coming all the way back just to blow it in game 7
One fan base is going to be epically trolled after tonight lol |

It’s unbelievable with these guys
Not only do we all have to suffer because the Rangers didn’t win the Cup this year and it’s devastating, but we have two totally sadistic regular posters here who feel the need to constantly twist the knife about it and make us suffer here too.
Brukie and Tom are sick twisted people - jimbro83
Saturday at 8:44 am. Wasn't seen since Friday afternoon. It's now Monday.
I'm so fascinated how the opinions, facts and stats I provide have broken your brain. Would love to see a study on it. |

Circling back to Brooks' article about paying/not paying Shesterkin...
In general, the average goalies that won the cup got hot and played well during the playoffs. You're not going to win it all if you're goalie actual plays average.
So, do you save money and go for an average goalie and hope they get hot OR do you pay the big bucks for a goalie you know will be good?
I'm going with the latter, so long as we don't overpay too much. |

Brooks talking about not paying Shesterkin?
- blacksheep1
His article the other day, he simply pointed out that recent cup winners/contenders had goalies that many would judge as average (he mentions Skinner this year and Hill last year among others). So it raises the question, do we give Shesty the huge raise he likely deserves or look at other options knowing that you can win it all with an average goalie?
Also, have no problem with you making valid points. You generally have good insight. I have a problem when you're a wiener. |

this is not even close to your obsession of blowing up the team by dealing away Shesterkin and Lafreniere and starting over again you big fat weiner

So if Brooks doesn't want to pay Shesterkin? What are the other options?
Seem sus Brooks can suggest that and not get taken to task. |

Today's NY Post:
"I recognize that it is essentially impossible to quantify the meaning of having a franchise goaltender. I recognize that there have been big-time teams recently who seem to always have the second-best goaltender in a playoff series, such as Toronto and Carolina. I recognize that not having a reliable goaltender can undermine a franchise for years.
But I think as Drury enters into negotiations with Igor Shesterkin on an extension, this has to be part of the calculus from management’s perspective:
If Shesterkin comes in at $11M per year, which would break Carey Price’s $10.5M AAV record for goaltenders, the Rangers will be committed to just under $45.767M on the cap for five players — Shesterkin, Artemi Panarin, Mika Zibanejad, Adam Fox and Vincent Trocheck.
That does not factor in the approximate combined $15M that would be going to Alexis Lafreniere and K’Andre Miller on their next contracts. So that would be about $60.767M for seven players, leaving about $31.2M on a projected $92M cap to fill 15 spots on the roster that is going to be in Stanley Cup mode.
The question for Drury is whether the Rangers could obtain a Cup-worthy goaltender for $5M or less and use the leftover $6.5M to bolster the roster with another couple of players.
Maybe for the first time in the hard-cap era, the Blueshirts wouldn’t be so goaltender-centric. It’s just a thought."
Have to strongly under if these little nuggets and whispers are being fed from the Rangers to Brooks... |

I could also rattle off endless examples of teams desperate for years trying to find a goalie and also not winning the Cup too though
I'm still in favor of paying Shesterkin |

You missed the point I made in the first post. Do you really want to hope your goalie gets hot at the right time? I mean, you seem to hate it when players don't show up in the playoffs. Would be real poopty if we had a good team and a sieve in the net come playoffs.
Seems appropriate that he wasn't taken to task though. He wasn't acting like a wiener. That's that part you don't get. You're trying now, but you'll act the victim. So many people are against you for no reason I guess. |

Rangers don't know how to win with Hall of Fame (and better than that) quality goaltending.
Anything and everything should be on the table. |

Winning the Stanley Cup is hard. A lot of things need to happen. You need luck at the right time. Just because you don't win, doesn't mean you don't know how to win. |
