I've seen the Skinner, Hill and Kuemper arguments but if we get rid of Igor to rely on a journeyman is there any guarantee that we end up with a McDavid/Draisaitl or MacKinnon/Makar or otherwise spend the money to create a dominant 5v5 team? If there was I'd consider it. But I think with the way this team is currently constructed that Igor gives them the best chance of competing. Hopefully they can win next year when his and Laf's salaries are still low but I don't see them trading him or letting him walk.

30 and Kakko for McGroarty from WPG. 14th overall in 2022, going back to college bc he doesn’t want to play in WPG, RW. Checks all the boxes. Maybe get a 3rd coming back also? Makes sense to me. He’d also be closer to making the roster than anyone we’d draft in that range this year.
