i'm not one to feel bad about people making millions of dollars a year to play the game they love being not happy.

glad drury was able to clear the space.

Labor>management. Even in the case of Goodrow.

You could give Drury credit for one day if you’re actually a Ranger fan. But you’re not so nvm

It’s quite literally the best case scenario that happen with goodrow

Brooks article is good. Goody not happy how this all went down. Sharks on his no trade list

- nyrangers2

Saw a stat that Goodrow hasn’t missed the post season for like 15 consecutive seasons dating back to juniors, AHL and all NHL seasons. That’s pretty incredible, don’t blame him for being mad. Almost certain to end unless SJ now trades him for assets and retains salary to a contender. Could happen, they already know he doesn’t want to be there.

Preach. Would have been perfect player to end this window. Missed opportunity for sure.

SJ can’t retain on anyone else. Already Burns, EK and Hertl. Unless the contacts end soon, I’m not sure how the trade him. Grier may be in the wrong position.

What is soooo frustrating about Tom is he capable of having good conversation and is smart about hockey. But he insists on blowing the blog up for his own jollies.

It’s refreshing to see people FINALLY seeing this

I’ve seen it for years, never got along with him. He isn’t capable of having a conversation, his only mission, for as long as I’ve been on here, 10 years now? Is to burn it to the ground.

Yea, I’m dumb

Assumed they had cap space because of how bad they are. Makes it more head scratching.

Toffoli makes very little sense
- Slimtj100

I don’t get this. Why?

Cup winner, RW with strong metrics, scores at 5v5.

I haven’t watched a ton of him, but what am I missing?

I don’t think goodrow will demand anything. He’s probably just pissed he isn’t on a contender. SJ wants him and he’ll appreciate that someone does and do his job. He doesn’t come off as a selfish guy. It’s the business part that they don’t like but eventually they understand

I don’t think they can go long term on a player. 25-26 is really dire if you look at it. We sign someone like that now we’ll lose someone. Suppose Cuylle, or even Kakko..blow up? that would be nightmare scenario cap wise. Idk if the cap raise can even make up for it. I was looking on CF before and it’s not going to be easy

That’s actually when we could see Panarin get ruthlessed

Love the use of the term “ruthless”

There's nothing ruthless here. People keep speculating that this was all some kind of collusion between Grier and Drury. Everything here is within the rules. I'm sure Goodrow could be upset but he has nobody to blame but himself. Had he been a 20 goal scorer this season or simply a more valuable player on a Presidents Trophy winning team, then he wouldn't have to worry about being placed on waivers!

Larry Brooks isn't really a relevant source of info anymore, so I really don't put much stock into his take on this...

So Blais might be added for 2nd chance? He'd be a good 1mill 4th liner

Not the biggest Brooks fan either, but he isn't wrong all the time, and in the know on many occasions

Wouldn’t mind him as a FA signing. Hated him mostly bc he was the roster player we got back for Buch.

He's fast, tough and good on PK amd can plug in anywhere when needed. Plus he'd be itching to redeem himself in NY.. Idk..kind of like it..

At the right price

I think when they acquired him the idea was correct, he just didn’t work out. This is the kind of player we lacked vs Florida

I’d be on board with it just so it drives Tom nuts

Kane and Blais coming back would be as epic a meltdown as we’ve ever seen in these parts

Wasn't talking about hockey. In general, crazy I know, 90% of people should side they labor because they are part of the labor.

Think bigger.

You wanted the Rangers to have to buy out Goodrow because it would have given you many more years of something to complain about with the cap hits and it’s disappointing for you. I get it

You seem to be mad at the rangers, maybe you should be in the sharks thread blaming them. They are the ones that claimed him. They could have just said no thanks. Unless you really think Drury held a gun to San Jose’s head forcing them to do it. And if you believe that I can’t help you
