No.
Let me help you.
Goodrow is bad and should have been signed. He'll get his money.
Drury giving away an asset he overvalued for free is... not good.
You should and I should side with Labor. Pro sports is stacked against the labor.
That's capitalism baby.
all of that can be true and coexist at the same. - blacksheep1
I only care about the Rangers, so all I read here is blah blah blah blah

I am of a different mindset. He has made the playoffs every year and is coming off a year where the Rangers finished two games from the SCF. I would prefer a player that has some passion rather than one who is laissez faire. He would prefer to be in New York, kind of makes sense compared where SJ is right now. But in two years, they could be competing for a playoff spot based on talent they have and will be forthcoming in this year’s draft. It’s the nature of the business, and it’s just that, business, which takes priority over feelings and sentiments. - airjan23
I agree. It's also a risk a player takes when signing a long term deal for big $$$...especially when said player knows he is likely being overpaid. You don't live up to expectations and/or can be replaced by a younger and cheaper option based on what you are currently doing, then you should not be surprised when things like this occur. |

The funny thing about the sharks is they are still over 9 million dollars from the cap floor. So it makes a lot of sense to grab Goodrow. Not gonna be easy for them to attract free agents right now. They need to get to the cap floor someway |

TPC,
I wish you, MDW, JRR, Brukie, nyrangers2, mtca66, (I think his name is Cody). I hope the Rangers win soon for you. Seriously that group deserves it. For me, I'm a lost cause. |

If Drury is leading the Rangers, he will need to shed the team of Gorton's last folly and send Trouba packing to Detroit or SJ. |

And that failing of San Jose's was exploited by Drury. |

I'm more intrigued by that Tragically Hip Red!!!
Edit: ...For those of you not in the know, their song Fifty Mission Cap was about Bill Barilko who scored the Cup winning goal for the Maple Leafs in 1951 and then was killed in an accident on a fly-in fishing trip in Northern Ontario four months later. They discovered his body in 1962, when they won their last Cup. ( ) |

You seem to be mad at the rangers, maybe you should be in the sharks thread blaming them. They are the ones that claimed him. They could have just said no thanks. Unless you really think Drury held a gun to San Jose’s head forcing them to do it. And if you believe that I can’t help you - TPC
I don’t understand what the BS here is about. He was put on waivers, picked up by San Jose. What’s the question? Is it because his buddy is in SanJose. Is it because the rangers somehow circumvented this? Or maybe goody did not have them on there NT list. Whatever it’s done. A lot of people here wanted him gone. You got your wish now it’s time to move on. |

NTC = No Trade Clause
There's no debate here, Goodrow WAS NOT TRADED!
He was legally placed on waivers, any NHL team could have put in a claim. San Jose had first choice and they CLAIMED him. End of story. You're looking for something "dirty" that Drury did ---- look elsewhere. There's nothing to see here. The Players Union is NOT going to object to a LEGAL Waiver Claim that is actually written into the CBA.
Move along please.... - TommyGTrain

Thank you Tom but I dont have much hope for this core group, they arent playoff performers.
The Rangers just waived a player who almost had just as many goals as Panarin and Mika COMBINED!!
Until this team drives 5v5 play, as I have said in the past, Im not going to have much hope for a Cup. |

Anyone else hearing or seeing any rumblings the rangers could be trying to package Kakko and Trouba in a trade? Would be spicy if true - TPC
You just got rid of one of the tough guys. You get rid of T and the rangers will be turning into the smurfs 2.0. We need size and grit. T had a horrible playoffs no argument with that, but he is still an intimidating force on the back end. |

look, I dont thnk they are getting rid of Trouba but if they did, there is loads of cap space and I think they'd use it partially to address that problem anyway

Ditching Goodrow was fantastic to see after taking a break.
Moving on from Kakko would be so dumb. I will die on this hill. |
