The wife uses mayo when she does them, and they are a ton better.

I'm lazy. If I'm in a hurry, I'll toast two slices of bread. Throw a couple of kraft singles between them and then microwave it for 15-20 seconds - just long enough to melt the cheese.

I call it "Toaster Cheese". My wife mocks me for them.

Nothing like a good grilled cheese, but I also love taking sliced cheese (off a block), slapping that on a single slice of bread, and putting it in the microwave for 30 seconds. Heck, I'll take a 1" thick chunk of cheese, put that in the microwave for 15 seconds to soften it up and eat it. Love me some sweaty cheese.

I had a buddy in high school who legit toasted bread, then buttered it and put a processed cheese slice on it and tried to tell me it was a grilled cheese.

I laughed and asked him if he knew what the word grilled even meant, the look of confusion and then realization on his face was even funnier.

I then realized he had never even thought of it and I found out that was how his mother had always made him a 'grilled cheese' his entire life and he actually thought it was normal.

Now speaking of Toaster Cheese - Cheese on toast (which I think is a UK thing) is the shinnizle.

Toast bread about 75% to done.

Butter it and put some cheese on top and then broil to finish.

We ate a poop tonne of that growing up and always just called is the super complex and fancy name of "melted cheese on toast" - so original. lol

When I was around 24, I went out to a club with friends - I think after the boozecan and everything we ended up back home around 4. I was starving so I went to make an egg salad sandwich - which was about the only food we had in the house. Plopped the eggs in the pot and on the stove and came back 10 minutes later.

Now I should have realized that there was a problem when, without thinking, I plunged my bare hands into the water to pull out the eggs. The problem was that I should have realized that, "I should be being burned pretty badly right now."

Having failed that particular aptitude test I proceeded to make an "egg salad mix". My roommate came in and looked at the mess in the bowl of raw eggs and mayo and I offered to make him a sandwich. He was like, "No. I'm good. You, uh. You just. Uh. Enjoy that." type of thing.

And I did. And I apparently loved it.

Never underestimate the power of inebriation to enhance the qualities of food.

Another good thing to do is nuke butter, marshmallows and rice crispies in a bowl when you don't have time to make full-on rice crispy squares.

If she does this with the Kraft Singles type of cheese, she needs to be committed immediately for her own safety. Those are only to be used on hamburgers or properly grilled cheese. If she does this with block cheese or the pre-sliced stuff, then she is a culinary genius.

Let me ask the Leafs nation something : If there was no salary cap, would you still want to trade Marner?

For me, the answer is no. I'd keep him, but find the right linemates to balance his play style.

Unrelated : I peeked into the Panthers thread. There are Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver fans in there chirping. Not a Leafs, Habs, or Ottawa fan to be seen. It's interesting from an anthropological perspective. It seems to be geographic.

Leafs fans have nothing to chirp about. I'm glad everyone is staying out of there.

Apparently we have a lot to chirp about. McDavid went a few games without scoring 9 points so he's poop and we need to stop holding the Core 4 accountable.

I absolutely HATE the Oilers, but I found it very entertaining to see all the Vancouver trolls getting really lippy in the Oiler blog comments early in the series, only to get REALLY quiet later on

To up your grilled cheese game, use better cheese and don't skimp on it.

Two thick slices of cheddar jack and one slice of provolone.

Directly into my facehole as we speak.

Must be hard for players to actually admit they're done and they're just not gonna win the cup.

There's no way a serious cup contender sees Giordano as a solution to one of their need and is there any point to go to a rebuilding team as a veteran presence at this point?

Maybe he always liked Utah?

- Scabeh

I think you are wrong.

Wily vet.

Good in the room.

Can teach the young kids how to be pros.

Steady leadership in the playoffs when things get tough.

Damn, the Leafs could use a guy like this!
