Come next Tuesday morning, preseason betting will favour the Oilers winning the Cup next year. Could they win two in a row. Back to back Cups are highly unusual.
- spatso

They havent won one yet.
Panthers could still easily win.
Difficult to win 4 elimination games in row.
Still panthers series to lose

Spatso just jinxed it. It's over. Bennett slewfoots McDavid and takes him out of the game on the first shift. Drysaddle gets boarded by TkaUpchuk and gets stretchered off the ice.

Florida scores 11 goals on Skinner and the Cup ends up in a south Miami pawnshop.

Zadorov
Tanev
Roy
Pesce
Montour
Edmundson
Hakanpaa

Even though he shoots left…Zadorov’s playoff performance and his ability to play both sides, makes him my top UFA target

I wonder if they'll win the first one first or just skip ahead and win the second one now.

Not confident the Oil can win 4 in a row. But, I do think they will be favourites to win next year.

I haven’t been watching all the games but every time I’ve watched since the Oilers started their comeback from being down 4-0 in game 3 they’ve looked like the better team by a long shot. I think they’ve outscored Florida something like 21-5. Obviously Leaf fans know that games 7 are something special but I don’t see how Edmonton isn’t a huge favourite.

If me responding to one of your 2 chirps makes me so then sure view it that way.

I mean you’ve decided your TV watching based opinion trumps facts and other people’s experience anyway so this is par for the course.

Must be tiring dragging that dark cloud over your head with you everywhere you go.

They're still an underdog for game 7, probably because winning 4 in a row under these circumstances has only ever been done once, by the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Moving the team was the best decision. What a joke.

Thanks mom!

Hilarious to be labelled a "fact denier" when a dude actually measured the crowd noise in Canadian arenas. . But whatever, you do you.

You're a typical Leaf fan - caught up with your favorite pinup boys instead wanting an actual *team* to be built.

I don't know about underdog at this point. The pressure on Florida will be crushing. It could literally be the biggest sharting in sports history if they lose. All the momentum is with Edmonton.

Jealousy weaves a wicked web!

But in all honesty, i wouldn't want to ever see the canucks, habs or sens bring a cup back to Canada.....maybe even Calgary since theyve been Iggy-less.
Everyone here has those list of teans, Edmonton just falls on it for some.

What if it was Calgary vs ... ... ... ... Bruins?

The d was poop and they needed Brodie who was good then.

The hindsight poop move was signing Mrazek and handing him 3.8M. That meant they had to be tight up front and opted for Ritchie (2.5m) instead of Hyman.

Never understood what they saw in Mrazek.

- The Law

I was also under the impression that Hyman was willing to stay in Toronto for $5m - but they just couldn't wouldn't make that money work. I'll admit that I wasn't a huge fan of the term at the time either.

The worst part in that decision was really that they had just seen a year prior what happens when you get too many guys (like Barrie) who don't win the puck battles - and then they walked away from the best puck battler on the team. Ignoring his feats this year, he was still a 30 goal scorer who won battles and disrupted the opposition's defense. That was worth $5m.

Well, they don't really need to win 4-in-a-row now since there's just one game left. The 4-in-a-row thing matters before they start the come-back.

Edm overcame their 3 losses in a row. Can Florida? we'll see...

Edm would be the underdog for game 7 because Florida gets the last change. Matchups will be important.

I’m a “typical leaf fan” oh no such a hurtful comment!

Yes he measured it one time so it’s always been that way and always will forever and ever! Just like if everyone would just do what you say and think like you think the Leafs would be cup champs every year right?

I’m sure you had the Oilers as a cup favourite too with your super insightful and superior hockey knowledge to all us “typical leaf fans”. 🙄

You are in here poopting on leaf fans, the team and the organization 24/7 - I’m sure every leaf fan and executive, coach and GM all wish they were only as smart as you!

It’s a blend of sad and hilarious to watch you claim to be a fan of this team and act the way you do.

Do you have a set schedule or do you just flip a coin each morning trying to decide if today you are the chicken little of supposed Leaf fans or go full Eyor?

Hyman never scored 30 goals in his career until his 2nd year in Edmonton. His highest goal season in Toronto was 21 and he sucked in the playoffs.

This was why many people didn’t think he was worth what Edmonton gave him - me included. The gamble worked out for the Oilers but I don’t think there was much reason to think he would become the player he has in Edmonton if he had remained a Leaf.

Panthers with the potential to do 2 things:

1. Let Edmonton break the Corey Perry Curse.

2. Become known as the Buffalo Bills of the Cup Finals

Dont worry! He's just really keeping the leafs accountable with their decisions. Talking about them every day, consuming all media about the leafs...you know...making sure they KNOW they haven't built any sort of "team"

(Funny considering the oilers are in game 7 of the finals built with the image of what the leafs were trying to do a few years ago.)

Leaf fans who think oilers fans will appreciate their congratulations are lunatics… at least panthers fans would be thankful of them
