Does tpegs feel embarassed or angered that every passing year former sabres we tanked for or acquired after the tank keep winning cups?
I would never sign up for a tank again but I can not argue against its success. It just wasn't here
Draft a couple studs and then use remaining assets to build your team by any means necessary should be the model. Obviously buffalo has trouble with free agents but winning solves alot of that. Something no management group has been able to figure out here |

Ottawa immediately got better with that trade
Last two teams to win have built their rosters primarily through trade and free agency
Without bobrovsky its probably Edmonton in 5 - ieetbred
Oh man, I totally forgot it's "they got better!" week.

What about trading your best trade trip in say a guy like Reinhart for a Goalie that hasn’t proven anything?
Is that any different because that trade has glowing reviews. - ImThatGuy
I don't really understand your point. Ullmark got significantly more in return that Reinhart and the main piece coming back was a later first rounder, not Levi.
Ullmark got the higher first with sweetners and this is a GOOD trade for Ottawa? |

Just because they got better doesn't mean it was a good trade. I'm not discounting the impact of good goaltending, but Florida just won game 7 without him. The issue with the trade is the high price they paid, there's no question Ullmark is a decent goalie. He just simply wasn't worth that much. Swap that 1st for a 2nd and you're fine. Giving up such a high pick for a 1 year rental is ludicrous. I expect an extension to come shortly...wonder what that number will be...won't be $5m, that's for sure. - QuinnFan

he should. I get the frustrations with the GMs and coaches of the last dozen years, but this all falls at the feet of the Pegulas. The fact that they won't even acknowledge it is disgusting.

You can't really compare the two trades because of Korpisalo. I think Ottawa easily got the better of the trade with Boston because they moved his salary. It is surprising that Boston made this move because they were looking to shed salary.

No fragility here you're the one posting paragraphs trying to explain how a team trading for a very good goalie to make an upgrade is stupid
I mean hey if the sabres traded for ullmark 2 years ago we undoubtedly break the drought in 22-23 but what do I know |

I think the point is that this place can be nauseating because so little happens when the season is over. People go apesh** over every little move that was made by other teams. It isn't necessarily about whether they are right or wrong - it is the obsessiveness that because tiring. We get it, you don't like Adams and we haven't made the playoffs in a long time.

Absolutely. And Pegula hired them. The root of all of this is him and his inability to have a proper hockey department. Worse, he apparently dictates some player moves.
