do you trust adams to make the right moves? - homiedclown
Yes, I do.
The 1 year deals, like them or not were fillers and calculated moves
He’s drafted extremely well
He isn’t afraid of a hockey trade mitts for Byram.
Last years problems ….. Adams gave Granato a decently talented team and Granato sunk it so hard into the ground. Granato made so many poor decisions with lines, scratches, heck even trades and signing with greenway and Clifton that hurt this team badly.
Look at the capitals who made playoffs. You can’t tell me we aren’t more talented than that roster. I think we beat the caps every time we played them last year

I don't like the word "trust". Do I think he will get it right? Yes, I do, if for no other reason than I think he sees the error in his way. I think he is a very smart guy, and being passive and overly-loyal can be corrected.
Unfortunately these are the kinds of growing pains that can come along with a guy that has zero front office skills. Again, that is Pegula's fault. He should have never gotten the job, but here we are.

Tim Murray knew how to build a team - Jet Jaguar BD
Look at the defense and goaltending on those teams and then get back to me. Murray was excellent at acquiring shiny toys. He completely neglected the back and and the minor leagues.

To be fair. He sold off the prospects for those shiny players lol |

Just to be clear - it's not a rumor. Adams himself confirmed they have offered Girgensons a contract. It's up to Zemgus now - Hank Balling

No, and if we are playing MoneyPuck here, rather have Ventura leading the FA Offseason |

I disagree with 99% of this.
Also in terms of drafting well. TBD. |

Not sure what you are questioning. The guy admitted that now isn't good, and simply said that their image was better a year ago. The two are not mutually exclusive: they could have had a lot of interest in people coming here, and he clearly picked some of the wrong players. The guy completely botched 5ish roster spots by being loyal to these guys. It was a giant, giant mistake. - Slump Buster
he says their image was good and all he did was bring in crap when he has all kinds of cap space
I don't believe a word he says
if the image was good an average gm would have done better than jost, erik johnson, girgens and okposo
is asking for average now too much when money is no longer an issue with this small market team |

The only thing I care about is if adams can do what he speaks of this offseason. Time is ticking and fast
There is no debate about whether ullmark makes the sens better or not - ieetbred
Same. He has one week. Maybe the off trade that week, but 90% of the work needs to be done by then.

You are going to be very disappointed when Girgensons is on the opening night roster and Okposo is part of the front office for next season. |

Only the Sabres, guess Okposo got a 500,000 bonus for the Cup win. Looks like Pegs is on the hook for that. Hey we got a 5th |

Read a a article saying since it was a performance bonus it was picked up by Buffalo. Maybe that isn't right, haven't seen that before. |

If I was going to lie about that, I would think that I would say that we had a terrible image last offseason as well. In a way it actually makes him look worse if he said that people wanted to come here, and he picked other players.
I think he is good in interviews and shares a lot. If you'll remember, it was Murray that complained about other GMs not wanting to deal with him. That was an excuse. |

To your first paragraph, I don't think Adams is as smart as it seems you do. |

How many drafts has he run? 4? How many players become all-stars in their first 4 years? And it takes goalies much longer than that. He seems to have done well with his firsts, and they made an actual steal with Peterka and maybe the kid we got in the second in last year's draft. We have a top 5 pipeline - it may not mean anything in the long run, but that's about all we have to grade him on NOW.

I suspect that we are going to find out in the next 7 days. This really should be pretty black and white. I am heartened by the drafting and by the few trades that he has made. Then again, I was heartened by Granato two years ago. We'll find out.
