If we use 14 and a prospect for Ehlers and 43 + skinner for futures the SJ trade makes a ton of sense. We still would have a pick in all rounds 2-7. Now, sign a Tanev type for D and a couple of the aforementioned 3/4 liners and we're good to go. Even if we use the pick at 14 and trade a 2nd to take Skinner it makes sense. If he uses all 9 picks, it makes no sense

That's what I figured. Realistically in a trade for an NHL players there is not that much difference in value between 14 and 11. But now he has a second 2nd rounder to maybe make a second trade with.

Of course, most likely he will just make all the picks tomorrow and do nothing.
