3 years with a $5.75 AAV.

Meanwhile, KD has re-signed only Cole Guttman.

Today's post seem sketchy; Powers doesn't know more than anyone, Kyle would NEVER tip his hand. Why give the teams selecting after #2 an easier blueprint to use in their draft strategy?

I am trying to figure out WHY the Blackhawks would consider trading Nazar who they picked in ine slot before Rutger McGroarty, and further proof is Nazar can play centre and wing, and is a wing.

Doesn't that signal the #14 Nazar slectionwas a mistake?
And if so, why would Winnipeg take him, because he with drew from college?

I have easily over thought my draft baord, and you guys are making my head spin, with idreas the hawks are sending youth elsewhere.

Take some breaths, fellas.

I’ve been to Winnipeg, I wouldn’t want to live there either and that may very well be McGroarty’s issue. Unless you love hunting and fishing, cold winters and mosquitoes bigger than Zedano Chara, there’s not much there.

This is what i think happened, Peg basically said no you aren't playing a couple of games in the NHL to end the season, we'll sign you once the season ends and you can start your pro career. Where would that be in Winnipeg? Ah we don't really know we have to see you on the ice with the other players, blah blah blah and he's thinking i want Cutter/Nazar treatment, that was all they needed to hear. If they are going to bury me for 2 years i might as well stay in college.

I hear you Wiz, so many think we are going to trade our premium picks or prospects for disgruntled players or prospects, not a chance.

JFC Wiz, I said a guy like Nazar. Maybe it’s not breathing that’s the problem, but comprehension. My point is if Chicago want McGroarty they’ll probably have to move a prospect out to get him. And Winnipeg won’t want some second tier prospect.

It doesn't matter what Winnipeg wants, or Carolina or Anaheim or Columbus, they are on the poop end of the stick

Then they’ll go to the team who covet their player and are willing to give up what they want. KD can’t over value his own players and prospects. There may be a deal out there where moving Nazar or whomever would be considered a good deal. Or there may not. I’m sure KD has a master list where player X is considered more valuable then say a Nazar and if the deal were there he’d make the move to upgrade.

Believe it or not we’re not in on Necas, McGroarty, or any disgruntled players. Kyle is building this from within. The Hawks have next to zero roster talent to trade.
I’m more concerned with who we’re drafting at 2 and 18 on Friday. If we take Levshunov, who do we hope is available at 18?

Random Thoughts;

I would look to move Seth Jones anyway possible.

That said, the D corps needs a veteran pro back there to show these kids the ropes, especially with Murphys health issues.

Free Agents I would talk to;

Matt Dumba
Jani Hankanpaa
Ilya Lyubushkin
Matt Grzelcyk
Oliver Kylington
Vincent Desharnais
Colin Miller

Chandler Stephenson
Matt Duchene
Blake Wheeler
Cal Clutterbuck
Stefan Noesen
Teuvo Teravainen (why not)
Sam Lafferty

RFAs I would ask on…

Arturs Silvos
Anton Lundell
Peyton Krebs
Arber Xhekaj

Trade Targets

Kaapo Kakko
Rutger McGroarty

Jeff Skinner (would require a bigtime sweetener)

Not Zegras.

Cheers,

As you elegantly pointed out, who's going to want a disgruntled self entitled player? The best Philly could do for a top 5 pick was a 2nd rounder and the often injured Drysdale.

Honestly let them go to another team who's willing to pay more. Let them make themselves weaker as an org.

Skinner could be bought out. If that happens I could see him signing with Chicago for a 1 year deal to show he can still play and up his value for his next (and maybe last) contract.

What about Rinzel (++) for McGroarty? That's a deal I would seriously consider.

Assuming McGroatry is not a malcontent and just doesn't relish the "opportunity" to play in Winnipeg, AND if Ehlers would sign a 2-3 year extension, I would do that Murphy, Reichel and #18 trade for the both of them.

Sign Teuvo for 3-4 years and you have a couple of decent wingers (yes, on the backside of 30) for a few years until the home grown talent is ready or others are signed or traded for.

If Lev is the pick, will he/could he slot into Murphy's spot as soon as this upcoming season?

Yea and we got to keep S Jones until we build the right side up, I'll even add maybe make a run at Pesce, but i would be fine with Dumba on the team as well.

Wouldn't mind a Teuvo reunion and throw in Martinook or Noesen.

I'm not expecting a high volume of moves from KD, but maybe 2-3 significant moves that have a major impact on the team.

My guess is that they're leaning towards drafting Levshunov, although I would prefer Demidov. If KD lands a young forward via trade (i.e. McGroarty or Zegras) then I see the logic in drafting Levshunov. But as you said, it will be an exciting off season. Well, at least from not until mid-July. From August to mid-September will be boring from a hockey perspective, but it's nice to take a break.

I did a mock draft online yesterday for the first 2 rounds. While I know it's totally unrealistic, these picks would be amazing.

#2 - Demidov
#18 - Yakemchuk
#34 - Hage (how was he available in the 2nd round??)
#50 - Letourneau

- DarthKane

Hopefully KFC hits on those moves. I'm in total agreement with you regarding the logic of this draft especially if KFC makes his move. i saw your draft mock up and ya thanks man for posting.

Murphy is a terrible player to learn from. The team was markedly better with him out. His CF% rel and FF% rel are still negative, meaning he makes his teammates worse. This has been true every year of his career.

Blake wheeler is done, and was a locker room cancer in WPG

Powers saying it’s nearly a lock they draft Levshunov. Kind of disappointed to be honest. I was hoping for another game breaking forward. Levshunov looks like a fine player in college, but I couldn’t help but envision us taking a top flight forward to take some heat off Bedard. If his comp is Sergachev and Demidov’s is a Kaprizov, idk I think I want demidov
- ObeseOprah

After almost all has been said, I'm leaning towards Lindstrom. "Take a chance on me."
