JR, Belfour and Chelios where the main reasons I became a Hawk fan as a kid. - breadbag
Same here. Those players plus listening to the legend, Pat Foley on the old SportsChannel. It's not only why I am a Hawks fan, it is why I am a Hockey fan.

Assuming McGroatry is not a malcontent and just doesn't relish the "opportunity" to play in Winnipeg, AND if Ehlers would sign a 2-3 year extension, I would do that Murphy, Reichel and #18 trade for the both of them.
Sign Teuvo for 3-4 years and you have a couple of decent wingers (yes, on the backside of 30) for a few years until the home grown talent is ready or others are signed or traded for.
If Lev is the pick, will he/could he slot into Murphy's spot as soon as this upcoming season? - boilermaker100
Murphy and reichel have no trade value |

Speaking of fire sales (that could be argued as tanking) Quebec could have been argued as doing this - when they offloaded Peter Stastny, Michel Goulet, and probably others. It isn't like there was never a precedent for fire sales. |

While we're at it, any trade that returns "future considerations" is by definition a tank move since those future considerations are never actually realized. |

He’s signing in Detroit to play with Kane. Why else would the Red Wings be freeing up so much (glorious) cap space????? |

Wiz, you asked about “Bob’s” draft list …

Thanks for posting. Whenever McKenzie speaks I'm all ears. Love his rankings best cuz it's an average of 7ish real NHL scouts so you get as accurate a reflection of where the hockey world is on prospects as there is.
I'm very intrigued by Finn Emil Heming at the 18 slot. Bobby has him down 11 slots from his last ranking down to 26....... Kid won't turn 18 until this week, played in both U-20 and U-18 WJC's for FIN, widely accepted he has one of the best shots in the draft and can score from distance, kid plays a power game and even in the WJC's the kid was between the dots with the puck, played 40 games pro in the top FIN league as a 17 yr old.
I may have landed on Boisvert at #18 but I'm very very intrigued by Hemming. No matter how far, or not, this kid makes it he will play a power game with a helluva shot already at 17 is 6ft 1in 205lbs. |

Boisvert at #18 would be a solid choice. I think the Hawks need to draft a true centre in their first 3 picks this year.

He looked like he couldn't move laterally or accelerate so I would suspect injury with the way he fell off and the lack of explosion and cutting ability. - fattybeef
Saw earlier today that he was playing with a broken rib and finger. |

Boisvert doesn't fit the profile.
Hage , Chernyshov or Luchanko are all fine by me.
Skahan at 50 would work. Elick at 34 helps add more D prospects. Or just go size queen and take Letourneau
Skahan is big, mobile and mean. |

He would be a good choice too, probably my #1 choice at 18. |

After watching highlights of Levshunov and Demidov, I think it’s not even close who is more skilled. Demidov looks like an NHL24 skill stick pro, and the guy actually works his butt off. Heck even D!ckinson’s highlights looked more impressive to me than Levshunov, who’s skating looks pedestrian while D looks like Heiskanen. |

Teams get snickicky if there is any centre who seems possibly not a top 6 centre, and I think i. would put him there.
These kids with heavier boots, are more likely to get selected if they are good laterally, albeit less that average in their movement. I am sure with work, Boisvert, Emil Hemming and the biggest intriguing big man Liam Greentree.
I could see an investment in them with that being the hope.
Boisvert - scoring, fight, and alas feet Teams may not see him as a top six contributer in the bigs, and the other strike is he hasn't establish enough all around game--- that you can take him over stellerestablished botton six type draftees...because if doesn't exihbit top 6 game, and then can't secure a spot in the bottom six...
Now Emil Hemming is on projectable path to play in a bottom-six if he cannot carve a career in the wings on the top two lines.
Greentree can be so physical, agile, to with his power playmaker and agile even though he is so slow.but muscle to a dangle and use his shot & set-up skills.
So teams more readily gamble on the players I have mentioned here if like Liam Greentree they have been asked to play a bottom six role in the international Under - 18's.
If they can arrive and play on any line, they will get their names called sooner. |

The kid wants to play now. Maybe he doesnt care for the city itself. Who really knows. |

He is a no-go for me. If KD trades for him with the guarantee he makes the big club, you basically then have to keep Nazer on the big club too. What happens if the best thing for both their development was time in the A?
Does Moore next year make the same demand? |

This all reminds me of Jokiharju when he was here. He felt he belonged in the NHL so he was traded
