This all reminds me of Jokiharju when he was here. He felt he belonged in the NHL so he was traded
- wizardofi

Jokiarihu was already signed and played in the NHL when he said that. He also went from playing regular for Q to being sent down a while after Colliton took over. Not the same scenario IMO. Earned a job under a HOF coach, and losing his spot in the NHL under an idiot.

Hopefully KFC pulls the trigger on a trade today. That will give us something new to moan and groan about.

Nothing against the city itself, or the the people who live there, but its way too cold there for me

Well it is called Winterpeg for a reason. And in the summer the mosquitoes are bigger than any I’ve ever seen before. A friend who’s from there says they call the mosquitoes Andre, as in Andre the Giant. But if you like to hunt and fish it’s one of the best places in Canada, 40 minutes outside the city you’re in hunting and fishing country. Apparently Buff loved his days off there.

Teams get snickicky if there is any centre who seems possibly not a top 6 centre, and I think i. would put him there.

These kids with heavier boots, are more likely to get selected if they are good laterally, albeit less that average in their movement. I am sure with work, Boisvert, Emil Hemming and the biggest intriguing big man Liam Greentree.

I could see an investment in them with that being the hope.
Boisvert - scoring, fight, and alas feet Teams may not see him as a top six contributer in the bigs, and the other strike is he hasn't establish enough all around game--- that you can take him over stellerestablished botton six type draftees...because if doesn't exihbit top 6 game, and then can't secure a spot in the bottom six...
Now Emil Hemming is on projectable path to play in a bottom-six if he cannot carve a career in the wings on the top two lines.

Greentree can be so physical, agile, to with his power playmaker and agile even though he is so slow.but muscle to a dangle and use his shot & set-up skills.

So teams more readily gamble on the players I have mentioned here if like Liam Greentree they have been asked to play a bottom six role in the international Under - 18's.

If they can arrive and play on any line, they will get their names called sooner.

There are going to be a lotta possibilities at #18 but as always you're looking for a crazy suprise dropper. .... I agree with Darth that it would be nice to see the Hawks get a legit centerman with the 18 or one of the two 2nd rounders.

I liked the cut of Boisvert's jib going back to last yr as a 17 yr old. He's Canadian but he sure looks like a Euro with his fine skating, positioning and the way he cruises and circles off the puck with his head up he has the look for me.

Listed at 6ft 2in 185 lbs he'll have NHL size. He projects as more a 3rd liner or middle 6 but he's the kind with his size/skill/skating combo who ends up playing over his draft slot and for him that would be a 2C.......

Bedard may end up a wing and if not he won't be known for his complete game for a while at least, although I bet we see a jump in his 200 ft game this yr. Then they have Nazar and Moore as probable/hopeful centers so it ain't like they're bursting with top 6 centerman prospects.

And Hemming has that look too. A floor of NYR's Cuylle?

Oh, Greentree's skating is bad, real bad but like that horrid skater outa U Conn last yr he has size and skill in his hands.

New blog is up

I'm getting a bad feeling that the draft/FRee agency period is going to be a bit of a let down

There are lots of rumours that Montreal covets Demidov. Montreal have some really good prospects and young NHL players but no game breakers among them. If KD isn’t really sold on Demidov or Levshunov maybe he can pry away both of Montreal’s first round picks, #2 & 26 plus a prospect like Owen Beck or Florian Xhekaj who plays on a line in Brantford with Nick Lardis. Xhekaj is 6’4 200 and plays like the wrecking ball his older brother Arber does. A good skater who turned himself from a tough guy playing hockey into a good hockey player who’s tough as nails. With the number five pick there are possibilities like D!ckinson, Iginla, Parekh, Catton and possibly Lindstrom or Buium. Then picks at 18 and 26. Maybe Greentree is one of those guys? That’s all assuming Montreal is willing to sell the farm for Demidov?
