Exactly. My worry is looking at a guy’s production in one position and assuming it will translate to another. Iginla was kind of a mid to late round prospect on a lot of people’s boards before he took off on the wing. I think taking him at 12 or even moving up to take him with the intention to move him to Center is a big risk.

I was wrong about Cutter tho and felt the Flyers made a big reach drafting him where they did so who knows.

He will be a winger with the Ducks.

what part of no issue moving him in a good deal did you struggle with?

I would venture to guess the league knows joel isn't a torts guy. do you think that his value takes a hit at all because of the coach?

No, his contract is reasonable, he’s still young, Torts has never bad mouthed him publicly and he still had a 50pt season with inconsistent ice time and linemates. This is nothing like with Hayes.

If they were sure he would sign here, the Flyers should look to move Farabee for McGroarty. The league knows Torts wants Farabee gone, and the Jets would value the four years of term he has left.

I doubt the league even thinks about who is or isn’t a “Torts guy”. Who Torts does or doesn’t like really isn’t a league issue.

It becomes an issue when the whole league knows the Flyers need to move someone because of their little dictator.

Good thing the Flyers passed on Zito and hired Chuck. Incompetence is so much more interesting to talk about than success.

So Sanheim and Tippett get 8 years and Konecny 6? I'd say the "one person " who that was reasonable didn't think that out.

So 8 years $64mil-$72mil seems to be the consensus. If TK would go 6 years you are looking at $10.66mil-$12mil per year. No thank you Jose.

Realistically you are looking at 76M over 8 years. I don't think he signs for under $9.5M AAV.

One has nothing to do with the other in terms acquiring players.

Talk about dumb takes.

Not a hard concept to grasp for most people. It could very easily bring his value down.

Yeah let’s pass up a chance to acquire a very good prospect because he is friends with Cutter. Brilliant.

so funny as the 3 stooges love it. never mind where their players were drafted.

In response to your comment in the previous thread about former Sabres winning the cup, just wait until Michkov passes the cup to Ristolainen!

There is zero reason to go down that road with an unproven kid already dictating where he plays. Especially if it costs assets. Talk about a disaster. Being buddies with Cutter is just the icing on the cake. If it came back and blew up in the Flyers face that would be grounds for dismissal 😆

There are many reasons to go down that road. Every draft pick is unproven so that is irrelevant.

So should the Flyers stay away from anyone who is buddies with Cutter? What about friend of a friend scenario?

But not every unproven draft pick holds their team hostage in search of a better situation.

It would cost assets (EF even suggested a first round pick could be acquired by the Jets). Count me out - not a risk I’m willing to take. Plenty of other players to choose from. Why would I give them a late first or more for that? DB wouldn’t put himself in a position to get embarrassed like that twice
