No on Skinner and definitely no on trading Jarry. |

I’d take Jarry in Detroit. What would yinz want in return? - Feds91Stammer
Cap space unless you want to throw in a young fast forward with scoring touch, which I assume you don’t |

I want the Pens to get a little bigger and a little nastier. Skinner doesn't check those boxes. Plus, I've seen him take some embarrassing dives over the years. Most players go down a little easy in the right situation, but that dude twirls around like a ballerina. Good player, but it's hard pass for me. - madmike71

Ned is a solid backup at best. Expecting him to be a starter would be a major mistake. - Feds91Stammer
It’s less about Ned and more of taking a gamble that Blomqvist is ready cus we’re done with Jarry either way. If Blomqvist isn’t ready or isn’t good I think we all agree we’re kinda just screwed no matter what. |

I really like Blomquist but gambling the season that he's ready for the NHL to start the season isn't a route I'd go. Potential mid season option maybe. |

Why would anyone bet on a 22 year old goalie? Seems very premature. |

Add to it if Jarry has a repeat season or worse and Ned takes the starters role again then Jarry is going to be VERY hard to trade next season. Hes definitely trade able right now.
Just because Jarry gets traded doesnt mean you cant sign or trade for another goalie short term to bridge the gap to Blom.
Id be just as confident for a full season with a Ned paired with (FA) Brossoit/Samsonov/Stolarz or (trades) Gustavsson/Knight duo then a Jarry/Ned with a extra couple mill in cap savings to add to get a free agent. |

Because the Penguins are screwed anyways. If the FO is done with Jarry what other possible move do we have? Everyone else is a backup |

Me neither but we signed Ned already. I would have gone in with Jarry and Blomqvist and seen what happened. But if the FO is done with him then they’re done with him. |

I wouldn't put Blomquist in the NHL at all yet Ned I think is there to take the backup job over Blomquist, not Jarry's job. If they take away Jarry, they need to get a starter. |

Your list is decent. But these guys are all probably even more wildly inconsistent then Jarry. The savings upside might be real though. I really am torn on this one. |

That’s kind of my point exactly why I’d get rid of him now when he’s still trade able. I’d be shocked if any of those guys listed are making 5.4 mill next season… if you can save even say 2.4 mill that could help to bring in a forward and still leaves you with 3 mill for any of those goalies.
Especially if the team liked playing infront of Ned more.
I’m to lazy to go look up stats but I’d bet over the last 2 seasons those guys all have similar or better stats then Jarry and will cost much less.
Jarry for like 5 years now has shhiit the bed at the end of like 4 of them. |

I did a quick look. I'd say Jarry has the best stats. But some of them had great years. The thing with Jarry is this was his worst year and he was just slightly below average. The guys you mentioned have had bad years mixed in with good ones. So it's a gamble, but I understand wanting to get out of his contract or just being tired of him not helping down the stretch. |

Goalie shmoly. They’re supposed to score 6 a game anyway with how fast they play. Who cares about the goalie. |

Pretty sure you're the guy with at least a bit of insider knowledge...if so, have any tid bits from around the league for the coming week or so? if its not you, my apologies but the username is definitely similar. Doesn't have to be strictly Pens related... |

Jarry is a good goalie IDGAF what anyone says. His problem was always durability and last season that wasnt really an issue (got hit in eye in November only missed a few games, sick with liness later in the season around when Ned went like 13 games straight) due to sharing a lot more time with the other goalie. He was overused in a lot of others seasons. |
