as of today

bye bye Adidas, hello fanatics for NHL jerseys

- Symba007

I've been a Leafs season ticket holder for over 25 years.

This year was the first year ever that I haven't purchased a piece of Leafs clothing at a game (most often fueled by beer).

The Fanatics stuff is so poor quality, I don't want to wear any of it.

Yes, the jerseys will still be made in the same factory, blah blah blah.

I don't really care about the jerseys. It's the sweatshirts and hats, etc.

"Tanev, not surprisingly, holds the most appeal to the Leafs.

One path they may look to take with the 34-year-old in particular is to extend the term of their offer to him. Instead of offering the four-year contract Tanev is eyeing, the Leafs could increase the number of years on the deal to bring down the cap hit to a more favourable number."

I hear Robidas Island is lovely in 2028-29.

Seriously. Big, right handed, snarl and snot, blocks shots, defensively solid. Gets injured. Younger.

Cernak is alt-Tanev.

He played a real role with tough ice time. Legit 2nd pair defender. He would be the Leafs best d-man not named Rielly.

I’m sorry, that is NOT correct

The correct answer is “who are 8 people who have never been in my kitchen “

The Fanatics retail stuff is garbage quality but the Fanatics Pro stuff is really nice. The downside of course is that you can only buy the pro stuff when the team sells off extra/old stock. When they first started doing this you could get amazing deals but those days are gone now for the most part sadly.

The Adidas retail merch was/is actually quite nice IMO but I guess it'll all be Fanatics now.

Cap. Don't want to, but we have a rookie replacement at a fraction of the cost (Lilleberg).

Also, just curious why nobody considers him when discussing big hard righty D.

I feel like any tanev contract will not age well.

Im also apprehensive in general about Tre and free agency.....he seems to overpay often.

Maybe they've gotten better?

“Fanatics did a great job designing these jerseys," Auston Matthews said. "They feel comfortable and look breathable, which is important during games. Any little detail that can help us perform at our best makes a difference.”

“I love the jerseys," Quinn Hughes said. "The Canucks logo really pops on them, and the fabric feels airy and breathable. They’re really just beautiful jerseys.”

Or maybe Hughes and 34 get paid by Fanatics?

5.2M cap hit until 2031, 4.5M signing bonus due next week, often injured, 12-18pts per season. NTC with 16 teams he can be traded to.

He could get moved starting next week.

I don’t know what contract does age well in free agency…it’s the cost of signing a good player at 29-35.

Brodie is a perfect example of what will happen to Pesce, Roy, Skjei, ect.

You sign them to 5 years knowing the last year has a chance of being really poopty, but they fill a hole without giving up any prospects or picks.

Wednesday morning musings....

How in the faaaak can the NHL / HHOF put Colin Campbell into the HHOF? Good god.

Guaranteeing something is not serious - who knew!

Trouba is a great D man? (frank) no, Rangers fans can't wait to get rid of him and if he was a Leaf he's play 40 games max because he'd be suspended for 42 games per year.

Jeff Skinner will be the next former Sabre to win a cup - it happens every year now so let's hope it's as a Toronto Maple Leaf on a super cheap deal as Buffalo will be paying him for 3 more years!
