Wednesday morning musings....

How in the faaaak can the NHL / HHOF put Colin Campbell into the HHOF? Good god.

Guaranteeing something is not serious - who knew!

Trouba is a great D man? (frank) no, Rangers fans can't wait to get rid of him and if he was a Leaf he's play 40 games max because he'd be suspended for 42 games per year.

Jeff Skinner will be the next former Sabre to win a cup - it happens every year now so let's hope it's as a Toronto Maple Leaf on a super cheap deal as Buffalo will be paying him for 3 more years!

The size and grit the Leafs need to make it past the 1st round!
- Symba007

You're a Hab's fan and therefore not entitled to talk about size with any credibility, you do have the one "little person" with grit - player #11 I believe but he is also a broken toy at this point as he has been used and abused like the pole at Chez Paree.

actually it does, we know way too well about being built too small for the playoffs

and leave the pole from Chez Paree alone, it is well "oiled up" every day and still in great shape.

It's all because your team got rid of your steroid loving, lawnmower pulling thick necked, steel jacking GM and hired the guy who was the stunt double for Dr. Evil in the Auston Powers movies.

I don't mind Roenick in the Hall.... but Mogilny should have been considered before him.

Even before Shea Weber mind you.

team is slowly getting bigger thanks to Dr Evil. He is finally doing a proper rebuild, filling up the cupboard and addressed the players development team. Time will tell if it will work. So far so good

Seriously. Big, right handed, snarl and snot, blocks shots, defensively solid. Gets injured. Younger.

Cernak is alt-Tanev.

- GalacticStone

I like him BUT he brings very little offense to the table (5 goals is his frigging career high and that was back in 2018 - it's 1 or 2 goals per year) so i she worth 5.2M?

I don't think he's an elite defender, more like a good to very good one so the price seems way too high for that when you layer in the the fact the Leafs need some of that for sure but not at that price AND they need some offensive threat on the blue line, a guy with a bomb would be nice.

Now if Tampa wants to retain at 1.2 at a minimum......

It's Dom Luchezsyn "value" list. It's ok but he's got some particulars bias's that influence what he thinks a guy is worth.

But ...the Coles' notes ...

Leon - 13.5 x 8
Rantanen - 12.9 x 8
Sid - 10.8 x 3
Mitchy - 11.7 x 8
Verhaeghe - 8.7 x 8
Konecny - 8.8 x 8
Boeser 8 x 8

Theodore 8.6 x 8
Hedman 8.3 x 3
Slavin 6.5 x 8
Ekblad 7.6 x 8

What makes you think he isn’t an elite defender?

That’s stats say it. He was a beast in playoffs.

I don’t remember the last time the leafs had a defender as good as him in his own end…Muzzin was close.

I saw an interview with Judge Rynhold (SP?) the other day and apparently the original script / action was supposed to be a potato in the tailpipe but Eddie Murphy said something like Banana is funnier use banana and they ran with it.

Eddie was right - banana is funnier.

Now look at this gif and tell me you aren't singing in your head "you ain't got no ice cream, you can't afford it and your parents are on the welfare"!

He's not mentioned as an elite defender in any of the talking heads I have heard ever. Good defender absolutely, very good yes probably but elite?

What stats say he is an elite defender his lack of offense? lol

If he is go elite why does Tampa want to dump his contract to resign an aging Stamkos?

Maybe he is much better than I think and is simply out shadowed by other Tampa D men who get all the mention and glory but again if he is so elite it makes zero sense for Tampa to get rid of him considering the contract they have with him.

I don't want him as a Leaf at 5.2 I can guarantee that.
