This was a pretty standard HR issue that resulted in an employee being let go. NBC would open themselves up to possible legal issues from Tappen/Sharp or any employees that felt uncomfortable with the situation had they not responded. JR definitely dug his own grave on this. He still made it in the Hall tho so who even cares at this point.

Yeah. If Toronto was in a rebuild, draft picks and prospects would work. But for now, Toronto seems like they need to get solid players in return. Utah has a boat load of picks and prospects and young core players to build around. Now I’m not predicting this or suggesting it is even a rumor, but a top defender like Shea Theodore would be the prime piece coming back to the Laffs. They should expect and should get active top player(s) for Marner and the salaries have to work.

My wife still works for a large pharmaceutical company….and the HR department is no joke. I fully understand the ramifications…I still go back to when Don Cherry was canned…the world has changed…I don’t have to like it…but I do have to accept it.

That was my thought too. THAT would be the basis for a hockey trade. Necas a little younger, TK a more gritty proven scorer. And then an 8 year contract to Necas would not only be a little cheaper, but would be more acceptable given his age.

The problem is they don’t mesh well. Messier is all serious and needs to loosen up. Subban also needs to work on his timing which did improve throughout the playoffs. More than a few times he would talk over Bucci doing an intro and it would throw him off. When Gretzky goes on TNT he has all that history and knowledge but then he can banter and give Biz sh*t which is great.

Canes window to win is right now. If Guentzel does not re sign, TK is a younger winger then Guentzel. I expect Necas to get traded before the draft, so we should get an answer pretty quickly.
