I’ll be disappointed if DB can’t get some business done. I’ll be fine with Helenius or Yakemchuk.
Chuck Fletcher did tell us trades are hard. Hopefully he left his trusted trade app. Part of the issue is when you hear the value the Flyers ALWAYS place on their own guys….like imagine turning down a 1rst pick for Scott Laughton? Or thinking of paying a guy, a decent RW, at 28 , 9.5 million a year and selling it as part of a rebuild…will they ever change?

- landros 2

That was a false report from what I understand; the Fyers were never really offered a 1st round pick for Laughton. Still, with the emergence of Poehling, who I think does a lot of similar things, the Flyers should be ammenable to trading Laughton if a team offers a 1st. I might ask for a 1st in 2025, which is projected to be a deeper draft.

Be prepared for the Flyers to make zero deals, re-sign TK and draft Yakemchuk or Helenius at #12

I think they’ll make a deal. Just not the one that makes sense. Trading TK should be a priority.

I am confident that the Flyers will not get a first for Scott Laughton straight up. If the Flyers take on a salary of some sort then maybe. I also do not believe they will trade Laughton this season.

Hopefully I am wrong about all of this.

I’d rather see DB do nothing and just make his picks rather than do something stupid like trade for Chycrun etc.
If he doesn’t make any notable trades and doesn’t sign a TK extension I’ll take that as a small victory.
I would rather DB go into the season without TK having an extension and see how it plays out with possibly moving him close to the trade deadline.

I left Laughton off the list of those I’d trade. Really everyone except mm is up for grabs.

99% will happen
- hello it's me 2050

The thing is, Michkov is a RW and projected to be THE RW on the team. Would signing TK for long term at big money make sense for what he will become, a second line RW? I think this will be a huge sticking point between the Flyers and TKs agent. The agent will correctly say TK is a 1st line RW in this league and will expect to be paid like one. For the Flyers now that Michkov is here, that may no longer view TK as a 1st line RW and will not want to tie that money up for him. I am starting to thing that the Flyers may hold off on any extension for TK until they see how Michkov adjusts to the NHL. Or the Flyers might prefer to sign TK to a shorter deal to allow Michkov the time he needs to develop. Either way, I don't see TK's camp being happy about Michkov coming over so quickly.

I don't expect them to consider many undersized players at #12, even a guy as "200 foot" as Helenius. They always seem to value raw tools/size over everything with lotto picks. It's not until the late teens that they ever start to compromise (which usually results in better picks).

D!ckinson fits their MO to a T -- a total box of tools. I'm sure they've fallen in love with him while tracking Bonk but doubtful he drops to #12. Yakemchuk I'm not exactly sure they'd go for... he completely lacks fundamentals and they don't usually compromise on skating that early in the draft. It wouldn't shock me to see them reach, trade back, or trade up from #32 to take Solberg. He's exactly the sort of aggressive, low-variance player that Jones/Torts covet.

At forward I see them coveting Tij (who also probably won't be available at #12) and Lindstrom. The other forwards I have a tough time seeing the Flyers being excited about. If they do take one of the smaller guys it will be because their list got picked over and they weren't able to find a trade.

Regarding Pinto. I think folks here are overvaluing him greatly. Furst, there is where he was drafted and his production to date. But even more important is how OTT talking heads view him. We would be saying the same thing about him as soon as he put on a Flyers jersey.

https://youtu.be/HRVperwGuXA?si=UHL2mCUeUcbja82H

Summarizing the talk, they see him as a good 3C with potential to be a 2C. He is also seeking at 5 year $5M deal with limited time in the league already.

- coffee junkie

I don’t think anyone here expects Shane Pinto to have the potential to be a dominant number 1 center or anything. I think 1 for 1, he’d replace Morgan Frost well. Obviously two different styles of player but if you aren’t going to play Frost, get a guy you will play.

The good thing is you have to move money out because they are against the cap. Be curious if we could ship TK, Laughton, and a mid pick for #7 and chycrun. then move Chycrun at the fwadline

funny you still think they will trade core player, a true flyer, all about culture laughton.
- hello it's me 2050

DB already said it would require a massive overpay so he has basically given Laughts a full 32-team de facto NTC.

So the Flyers will have 14 forwards with MM and Brink in the lineup. The won't send Atkinson or ND to the Minors.

They will have to buyout Atkinson and sit ND.

I love Solberg and he would be a great pick for the Flyers, but they will have to move up quite a bit to get him. To me with at 12 if Helneius falls he would be the best player on the board; a potential 1C player that may be able to play in the NHL very quickly given the league he plays in. Nothing wrong with being a sound 200 foot player with a good set of offense to go with it.

It’s gonna be big

Demidov and Michkov are buds. Hopefully Demidov is not answering calls. Standing teams up. This is the way things are going lately.

So the move is

To CLB: Foerster, #12, #32, CLB 2nd rounder back

To PHI: #4 (Demidov)

Michkov and Demidov for years.

Do it Danny.

Nobody talks about it but ND did sit often as the Flyers tried to claw their way into the playoffs.

TK will not sign for less than 8 years. Why would he? There is no incentive to him signing shorter than 8 years, as this will be his last big contract. He is not going to be wanting to get a deal at 34.

You wouldn't move Tyson for a chance at the most skilled player in the draft who scouts compare to Kaprisov and Kucherov?

I think Roenick making the HoF is good news for Giroux, who should have similar numbers when he's done.

That’s nuts. I like Foerster as well. But you talk about rebuild? That’s how you rebuild. Michkov and Demidov are going to be legit stars.

You’re letting Foerster hold you back from that?

Think about the ufa talent they would attract having those two. Nobody’s coming here to play with foerster.

Flyers have enough to get to 4

You’re so sure Demidov is the real deal, Michkov actually played in the KHL his draft year. Demidov got a cup of tea. No international tournaments. Tough sell for me.

Yes, the overpaid boat anchor only played 21 games of the last 41 and averaged an embarrassing 6:53 per game. Anyone who defended signing a face puncher in his 30s for four years should be offering an apology.

You can't possibly trade a kid who gave the team 4th line production in top 6 minutes. That would be nuts.

Briere should make him the 3rd right handed right wing to be locked up for 8 more years
