Now that draft day is here, i have a bad feeling.
Like when Phil Emery was drafting for the Bears. Not sure why, I feel like KD has done a pretty great job up to this point, something just doesn't feel right. |

Iginla is a name I haven’t heard anyone predict the Hawks would take. What makes you think that? |

Habs move up to 21 after trading LA the 26th, 57th and 198th.
Getting a better pick to trade with the 5th and prospect for the 2nd? |

Someone said in a re-draft 5 years from now, Iginla would be the best player.
Hawks will need one of those heart and soul guys eventually to mix things up, win board battles, etc. Sort of like a Tkachuk type. |

Well if KD picks him that’ll shake the draft up |

I would love this especially if Owen Beck is the prospect.
KD has a chance to gain even more capital and still end up with a darn good player. |

Things are getting interesting.
#2 for #5, #21 and a prospect?
Then #18 and #21 for #10?
Iginla/D!ckinson at #5, Yakemchuck/Eiserman at #10

I always use the "Urlacher" test when drafting defensive ends; if your draft choice is smaller than Urlacher he's probably not going to be a great defensive end. McClellin fell into that category and they eventually moved him to linebacker where he still blew moose chips. |

If I remember, the kid was homesick after a few days at his first training camp with the Bears.

If they do not see significant separation in the next 5-6 players after Celebrini, why not do this?
You get a guy @ 5 that was in your group plus 21...plus potentially a prospect.
IMHO, they don't do this if there is clear separation...and that has to be Demidov @ 2. |

I actually hope this is the case. My hope would be the following:
Habs trade #5 #21 and Barron (RHD- prefer Beck but doubt MTL will offer both 1st round picks and Beck) for #2
Draft #5 OA Buium
# 18 OA Hage
#21 OA Connelly
(Could also try to package 18 and 21 to move up)
Trade #34 + 67 to Winnipeg for McGroarty |

Frank Seravalli on SN960 today: Blue Jackets are open for business at #4, Sens are open for business at 7, MTL interested in a pick swap to move down a little in the 5-11 range. Devils open to moving 10.
I thought the Habs were all in on Lindstrom or Demidov at #5? |

Elliotte Friedman reported this earlier. Seravalli seems to be regurgitating other reporters stories. |

I don't know how accurate this guy is with his data, but interesting he sees him only projecting as a 3rd line center |

Time for one of the biggest rebuild evaluation tests for KD
He’s done great moves, but a number of obvious wins in a full rebuild.
Big moment for this staff |
