Maybe already mentions that the Father owns a boxing gym Sacha actually stands up for teammates and drops 'em when they are bullied?

So Toronto built their team with offense and is now scrambling to find defensemen for their top four. That strategy obviously has not worked, as they have been eliminated early from the playoffs for multiple years now. Edmonton has had similar results, except for going to the finals this year. The Hawks are building their top four through the draft, and now are adding offense to their core, I like this strategy much better until it’s proven wrong, which i doubt will happen. KD’s next step is to add a top six or middle six forward/center and a RHD through free agency, hopefully both on short term contracts just to help out the kids until this next wave of young ones are ready. Bedard, Reichel, Nazar, Moore, Boisvert, Vannaker, Hayes, etc. If four of these guys become legitimate top six, this team will be in great shape. Also, Toronto’s #1 should be in play for a good young forward, get ir done KD!

Vanacker playing (effectively no less) with a torn labrum ? No need to interview him to know his grit and determination. Looks like without the injury he projected to be picked where the Hawks picked him.

As far as Boisvert at 18? Some hated ( or still do) KK at 7. Will be 3-4 years minimum to see if it was the right pick. Consensus he was low 20’s so not a reach IMO. That is why the Hawks have scouts.

Now on to FA day. Hoping Hawks can pick up at least one top 6 and one middle 6 forwards snd a depth defenseman.

Probably some league bias as well. Some of the scouts and what not don't seem to care for the USHL regarding Boisvert. It's also interesting to see who says a player has a high hockey IQ vs not. Seems to be some conflicting reports. I think it'll be more telling to see how he does in the NCAA next year and probably the year after.

Firstly, Thank you Dots, b/c I was testing my memory looking at the numbers and as my memory failed, failed to see names ??? for ??? 18, 35, 39...? and i knew if asked in that was a nice way, tha you would, being a nice guy, do the work for "our" assignment.

Last year, Kyle aided Philly, with our 2nd rd, 51 pick so they could get the next goalie after they selected Gajan.

So it was the last Hagel trade pick Tampa pick, the Vancouver from the Jason Richarderson trade & that Philly late return 2024 2nd rd. pick the ’hawks got when they traded Philly #51 2023 so Philly could choose the 2023 goalie Carson Bjarnason with the pick The NY Isles trade that leapfrogged the Lightning pick up two.

I still think there is irony that the Isle got Eiserman with that Lightning pick…

You know Wiz, i see KD building this team in a Florida, TB, Vegas way. Pain in the ass team to play against.

All the forwards he's drafting are high compete skilled forward and when i looked at Vegas stats and winning their Cup year, it's crazy they didn't have a player that scored more than 70 points that season. Dallas had one this season. Florida had 4 guys between 72 and 94, but the rest were 40 or less. Curious to see how this unfolds in the next 2 to 3 years.

If it's true KD was willing not to protect his 1st round draft pick then it means to me he will sign 3 more NHL forwards, 2 top 6 ability, and at least one quality RDman.

And i think Levshunov signs his ELC and we'll see if he ends up here or at Rockford.

Fingers crossed. While not being KFC's pick, Vlasic looks like a steal in the second round now.

If Lev, Korbustsky and Rinzel develop the way the Hawks envisioned could have a fun homegrown top 4 group of dmen.

- HawkintheD

How can any Blowman pick be any good? There’s bust written all over him, and to make matters worse KD gave him that obscene contract.

Well that didn't take long for Utah to get rid of all those 2nd round picks.

I agree with previous posts from LA and Lou regarding UFA additions, a top 6 and a middle 6 forward and a veteran RD. 4 year contracts max.

Some candidates below. Contract projections from AFP Analytics. Maybe the term could be adjusted.

Forwards
Teouvo 5 x $6.3M
DeBrusk 5 x $6M
Monahan 3 x $2.9M
Duclair 3 x $3.25M
Sprong 3 x $3.8M

Defense
Roy 4 x $5.5M
Carrier 3 x $2.7M
Walker 4 x $4.8M

And what makes the story about Boisvert really cool is when he first got to Muskegon he rode around on his bicycle looking for a boxing gym to train in and went there to workout after practices, games and I assume his studies. Boxing is all about balance and footwork, and those things are always translatable to other sports.

There’s talk Boisvert is a third line center, hopefully he can get his game to a top six level as a center or even winger.

With Sergachev being traded, I guess TB will be signing Stamkos.

Tanner Jeannot to LA for a couple of picks. TB picks up more cap space.
