Wonder if Buffalo, who could be gearing up for a Necas trade, would be willing to trade down once again to get even more pieces to offer for him.
14 for 18 and 50. |

Think it’ll be Celebrini and Yakemchuk. |

If we are looking to ice a more competitive team, I'm hoping we move Andreas Athanasiou even if we retain half the salary this season.
I would hate to see him take up another spot on the 2nd line again. I would really like the Hawks to find an actual 2nd line C. Or another C and just let Bedard play wing for now, he can swap back and forth as needed, but I really hope we don't go into the year with Bedard and Nazar as are top 2 Centers. |

Let's watch Bedard drag a corpse to a 50-60pt season He did it woth Kurashev this season ,so let's watch him do it with Mikheyev too! - captainserious
To be fair, Kurashev helped Bedard too. There wasn't another forward that Bedard had as much chemistry with last season. I think with Mikheyev, the thought might be he could help balance out the defensive side, because Kurashev and Bedard combined to be pretty bad on the defensive side. |

I don’t think I'd give up 50 that easily. |

Only one more year left on that deal. If VAN had a hard time unloading Mikheyev, imagine how hard it would be to trade AA. They would have to find a similar contract for a trade to happen, is my guess. In the meantime, we have to hope that he can stay healthy and can play decently enough to get something in return at the deadline. |

Buffalo wants players. I wish we had some more to give them, or I’d offer to eat Skinner’s deal to avoid the buyout if they give us 14. |

There has to be a compelling difference between 14 and 18 on their board for them to want to make that deal. |

The one plus here, failing a full productive season, is that he does help them get to the salary floor, which will be around $65 mill next season. |

Well i welcome another NHL player in this case a good chance 2 NHL players on the roster. We ve had a lot of try hard guys who just weren't very good. |

You're right,and I wouldn't mind Mikheyev with 98 and if they land a legitimate 1st/2nd line winger.
Just think saddling 98 with Kurashev and Mick isn't helping his growth. Also, free agency hasn't even started so who knows, maybe they land a legitimate player to play with 98.
I just think they should take as many swings as possible with their high draft picks looking for a good wing/center.
Everyone is saying they can draft a good forward with next year's high pick. I don't want them to be drafting top 5 next season, I'm hoping they'll be drafting in the 11-15 range at least record wise, and if the ping pong balls get them in the top 5-great! If not,at least they had a productive season. |

I get what you mean, I also look at Mick and Lafferty as Raddysh types, which they already have. Might get something out of them but they are probably 3rd or 4th liners. |

DFO Rundown Podcast, on Marner: Frank Servalli says "Make no mistake at this exact moment in time this week, the Toronto Maple Leafs are talking to teams about Mitch Marner and what that might look like."
"...And I want to be ultra clear about it, that's what the discussion is right now behind the scenes. They are talking to teams and trying to, what are you interested in, what can we do."
"I believe they are trying to do everything in their power to make a move."
Go get him Kyle! |

I'd guess the top line is currently Hall - Bedard and ??? I think they'll make Kurashev beat whomever they acquire to have that spot. |

The only thing that would make sense here is a package centered on Jones. That said, I'm not sure I'd like to be around paulr for too long if this actually happened. |

Sooner rather than later, (as in no later than 2026-27) we will have to make some significant UFA signings if we don't want to become Buffalo. I do think KD is smart enough to know this. |

I do like Hall up there with him, just not sure how healthy he'll be after the knee surgery. If he can play 60+ games that is huge. |

Yup,and I wouldn't mind them moving Jones for Marner. Then draft Levshunov or whoever they think is the best d-man in this draft, even if they have to wait for the big Russian. |
