rather go after a UFA for free

Okay but everyone always complains about term.

Every single D contract given july 1 won't end well.

Tanev you can maybe make go away on LTIR.

Probably within a year or two.

Trouba would cost a lot, but would be a great add imo.

honestly, at this point does it matter is its 7 years and the last 2 or 3 are crap.
Have to do it while the core 3/4 are still prime.

Trouba has 2 years left, I guess you can let him walk after that..but seems like a waste to be in the same position in 2 years. or..you have to extend him also.

but Trouba to me is a pass either way

I would think NYR have to retain a bit on that contract.

But yeah it depends on who it is. I don't like Pesce much but the other available D are solid.

you think the Habs will pick a defensive LHD? The only position they have lots of depth

1-Celebrini
2-Leftshoe
3-Silayev
4-Lindstrom
5-Demigod

I think if he is there at 5, it will be too hard to pass on 6'7 . no matter the position

oh also...keep in mind, iv done 3 mins of total prep for this

Weeks says lots of interest on Thompson and Hill.

(frank) Hill but I would trade the 1st and Lilybust for LT.

Celebrini will go 1st for sure

After that....nothing is guaranteed

Tons of roomers Leftshoe will go to Chicago

Anaheim is a wild guess, no glaring need in their pipeline. Most mock drafts have Silayev or Demigod going turd

Columbus....most think it is between Demigod and Lindstrom but many think they will go with size (Lindstrom at 6'3")

Habs have said they would prefer a forward with skills. That would mean Demigod, Lindstrom and the question is if both are gone, do they go with one of Iginla or Sennecke.

Oh my!

So your plan is to not do the following 2 things:

1. Just go to the captain and tell him he's not part of the plan in Toronto which will magically make him agreeable to me moved to wherever the Leafs want to move him? Away from the city where his family is, and the city he grew up in and according to insiders is rumored to have taken less money to come 'home' to play for?

(After yesterday's gong show I thought I better not stake that as a fact!!!!).

2. Bend over so Mitch and Paul can take another round out of the Leafs on a new contract?
-
Interesting & a bold choice Cotton - to buck the trend and ignore the plan that gets put forth here multiple times daily by some great hockey minds, hockey minds that are just so excellent, probably the best the world has ever known!

If the Leafs keep the pick, I am hopeful that is used on a defenseman (Jiricek) or a C, like Cole Beaudoin .

no one with class or dignity should be drafting Iginla ahead of Calgary

Joshua reminds me of Zack Smith, broke out in a contract year..scored 25 on a sh% heater. got a nice contract and never really replicated it.

that said, I think DJ will not crash as much. just a little

Hope hes a comparable to get Domi's value down.

Yes, Domi can play higher up in the lineup and produce more points.

But also, leaves room to go well this guy got 3.25 to be an energy generator and support his teammates, and scored twice as many goals as you Max. If he's worth 3.25 x 4, 4 mil x 5 years is a very fair deal for you.
